voyagers

Voyagers

The old ship
rust stripped like a Sudanese mule
doomed to carry fleeing people across
a landscape of despair
Why, she floats is a lasting mystery
From one obscure port to another
she finds her way
The captain and the chief are never sober
plays ten-cent poker
The captain signs the manifesto but takes
no interest, what's in the ship's hold
other than massive rats
when did the pair come onboard, was it
when they were young and wore uniforms
and had shiny black shoes inspected
the crew's fingernail on Saturdays?
Morning in La Plata
tomorrow I will go ashore in Buenos Aires
eat fresh meat and dance the tango.

Voyagers Park

Across the bridge, unto the clear path
silence waits as time takes a slow count
with her void beckoning loudly and
whispering to the lurking shadows

When will it all end?
As all spun lightly for a short stop
Toils and Sweats are lost before Dawn
gracefully dancing to the blowing breeze
over meadow at Dusk

Is Eternity a break Even?
or a new chapter of a new beginning
or is it just a Shadow of the Previous One
Trailing behind the traveling One

Beyond the bridge ,through and through
An answer lies covered in mystery
Will eternity be a beginning of a new End
Or an End to all we've ever known?

Death of Many Voyagers

In this your steep water of love
There is a graveyard of ships
Wherein Many men before me,
Who heedlessly have seafared
On this perilous journey of love
What joy have they ever gotten
But destitution, chaos and hurt
They have only left their homes
With foolish hopes of making
Their way Into a maiden's heart,
But in the end they were drowned
Deep into your tempestuous tides
As they docked their cursed ships
In bottomless depth of the Ocean
Of their strayed desires, perhaps Lust.
But they have been afflicted by love
They couldn't even learn from fates
Of loss that befell those that dared
To love you, their worst nightmare
Even sun drowned in your horizon
Your fine essence is the sweetness,
Poison many have succumbed to
Your tempting eyes is the daunting
Ocean,the Death of many voyagers

Voyagers

Embark with me, with us
upon our voyage
We set our course
by chart and dream
Cast overboard
all weight, for storms
pursue
make room
for sinking souls
Come toil and row
tied one to one
when gales blow
and far from home
Come count the stars
and scan the shimmering horizon
Come share the brazier’s glow
plain rations for a feast
laugh with companions
Adventure stirs our bones
Pain and fear we choose to despise
because we have a destination
we have a prize
It is the voyage
It is the love that drives
