Premium MemberChristmas delight

Hear the song that angels sing tonight
A Child is born amid the winter snow
Come to Him who bears Heaven’s delight.

Come, poor shepherds, to the Son of Light
Rejoice, whose ears were the first to know
Hear the song that angels sing tonight.

Come, O kings, who traversed through the night
You, who were led by the West Star’s glow
Come to Him who bears Heaven’s delight.

Come, those who are blind, and receive your sight
Before the horns of Judgment blow,
Hear the song that angels sing tonight.

Come, whose hearts are broken and contrite
Walk from your sins and lay down your woes
Come to Him who bears Heaven’s delight.

Behold the One who hears your plight
Whose Grace to the meek shall overflow
O Hear the song that angels sing tonight,
Come to Him who bears Heaven’s delight.

Cheerful, the splendor of the Christmas gift
When stars glimmer like bright crystalline light
Season of joy when our hearts need a lift

Dreams, like snowflakes, can tumble and drift
Our eyes are filled with love, glistening bright
Cheerful, the splendor of the Christmas gift

It's a time to mend each troublesome rift
Releasing quarrels of old to take flight
Season of joy when our hearts need a lift

There are cookies to bake, and flour to sift
While children stir so they can steal a bite
Cheerful, the splendor of the Christmas gift

No mistletoe, so we have to makeshift
With holly and a fire for warmth at night
Season of joy when our hearts need a lift

The passage of holidays are too swift
Much too quickly, it's all gone from our sight
Cheerful, the splendor of the Christmas gift
Season of joy when our hearts need a lift.

Premium MemberPresents Under the Tree

Children staring at presents under the tree
Eager eyes wide open and full of wondering,
They know Mama’s been on a shopping spree.

Packages tied up with ribbons, sometimes three
Sends their active imaginations wandering,
Children staring at presents under the tree.

No presents until Christmas, despite their plea,
They’ve even think about secretly plundering
They know Mama’s been on a shopping spree.

Anxiously, they study the packages on one knee
Around the tree they find themselves meandering
Children staring at presents under the tree.

What will Santa bring? They can hardly wait to see
Christmas Eve approaches, stomachs are churning,
They know Mama’s been on a shopping spree.

A large box behind the tree, could it be for me?
Too far back to investigate without blundering,
They know Mama’s been on a shopping spree
Children staring at presents under the tree.

Tinsel of Gold

When she wrapped around the tinsel of gold,
The bare branches bowed around the Christmas tree,
And lo! It was a proud sight to behold

With coloured paperchains carefully rolled,
The honour was bequeathed at the age of three,
When she wrapped around the tinsel of gold

Small soft hands dipped in baubles new and old,
A jumbled wild glittered decorating spree,
And lo! It was a proud sight to behold

Each Christmas we watched adornment enfold,
Lifting our diligent little working bee,
When she wrapped around the tinsel of gold

Final touches, un-coordinated, yet bold
Animated eyes reflecting sparkle and glee,
And lo! It was a proud sight to behold

Now that our brightest star has left the fold,
Like each tree, we remember what used to be,
When she wrapped around the tinsel of gold,
And lo! It was a proud sight to behold

Premium MemberWinter Comes Early In the Mountains

Rugged mountain peaks are now snow-capped
Wintry weather creeps down with passing days,
The lips on the blossoms are faded and chapped.

Many of the larger critters are sadly trapped,
For they have not adjusted to our urban ways
Rugged mountain peaks are now snow-capped.

Tall, spindly pines are in thin snowsuits wrapped
In the wind a snow-laden limb melodically sways
The lips on the blossoms are faded and chapped.

Native brown bears, fat and lazy, seem zapped
As they search for a safe place while winter splays
Rugged mountain peaks are now snow-capped.

Before the snow can melt, it is once again lapped
Piling up high, thwarting mountain hiking forays
The lips on the blossoms are faded and chapped.

For years the mountain trails have been mapped
It’s possible to enjoy those Christmas Eve sleighs
Rugged mountain peaks are now snow-capped
The lips on the blossoms are faded and chapped.

Tannenbaum

Here I grow, a handsome fir tree,
Standing upright within my wood;
An innocent, then let me be.

Where now I thrive for all to see,
Strobilus stemmed out of the bud;
Here I grow, a handsome fir tree.

Today I prosper, living free,
As streaming sap spawns my lifeblood;
An innocent, then let me be.

Forever green and wild are we,
My friends and I'd age if we could;
Here I grow, a handsome fir tree.

The gentle breeze may hear my plea
And listen to me as it should;
An innocent, then let me be.

So, man is come to sever me,
To rob me of my livelihood.
Here I grow, a handsome fir tree
An innocent, then let me be.

CHRISTMAS VILLANELLE

Come join the birthday, celebrate, rejoice
For One who woke the world to set it free
To sing our carols with uplifted voice

Then with His blessings and with power of choice
Our eyes are opened now that we may see
Come join the birthday, celebrate, rejoice

Unchained from sin and close writ law invoice
We grant to others each their right to be
And sing our carols with uplifted voice

Make Merry drink from cups of fine alloys
No close confinement laid on by decree
We join the birthday, celebrate, rejoice

Though tribulations drew our sails from hoist
Let these dark storms pass on into our lee
And sing our carols with uplifted voice

In time to come we’ll know long waited joys
And we shall lift our hearts with new esprit
So join the birthday, celebrate, rejoice
To sing our carols with uplifted voice

Twas Christmas 2002

‘Twas December, two thousand two;
Christmas, of course, and my main thought -
Decking the halls on Tye Avenue.

With a broken leg, I’m in a stew,
my house, the only bare spot.
‘Twas December, two thousand two.

Grandkids, my volunteer work crew,
tied my heart in a granny knot.
decking the halls on Tye Avenue.

Porch lights strung, manger scene askew,
my approval, they earnestly sought.
‘Twas December, two thousand two.

Front window tree, last thing to do;
they attack it, never being taught.
Decking the halls on Tye Avenue.

Year to remember, grandkids, do you?
a Christmas I have never forgot.
‘Twas December, two thousand two;
Decking the halls on Tye Avenue.

Premium MemberHere Comes Santa Claus

Santa brings toys much to children’s delight
la luna’s bright light guides him on his way
Nine reindeer pull the sleigh through the cold night

Guided by stars and the glow of moonlight
They’ll deliver presents for Christmas day
Santa brings toys much to children’s delight

Santa works quickly, he won’t get frostbite
Deep snow and ice won’t cause any delay
Nine reindeer pull the sleigh through the cold night

Children sleep; they won’t see the sleigh in flight
They’ve left some carrots and milk on a tray
Santa brings toys much to children’s delight

The ground’s covered with a blanket of white
Children wake, there’s toys with which they can play
Nine reindeer pull the sleigh through the cold night

Young Billy is thrilled with his brand new kite
He asks his parents why Santa can’t stay
Santa brings toys much to children’s delight
Nine reindeer pull the sleigh through the cold night

Christmas prevails with blest spirit of hope
Heralding Messiah’s eternal gift
Imparting peace around compassion* scope.

Offering peace wrapped with forgiveness rope
To secure love and care upon faith’s lift
Christmas prevails with blest spirit of hope.

Glad tidings deafen crises though hearts grope
Holidays meant to bridge enmity-rift
Imparting peace around compassion scope.

Reaching gracious reconciliation slope
Partnerships transcend differences’ shift
Christmas prevails with blest spirit of hope

Yuletide offers kindness; yea, not nope
Good cheers linger as past conflicts flee swift
Imparting peace around compassion scope

Since God upholds each season’s divine cope
We can pray and seek for constant uplift
Christmas prevails amidst spirit of hope
Imparting peace around compassion scope.

Psalm 145:8 The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.

Waiting To See Santas Feet

Filled with magical dreams the boy’s still sat and wait
with their eyes gleaming bodies wiggling and screaming
The fireplace roaring waiting to see Santa’s feet

The turkey is cooking my stomach is growling I want to eat
frosty lays flat upon the ground ready to be rolled around
Filled with magical dreams the boy’s still sat and wait

Apple pie caught my eye with rolls and butter on my plate
Miracle on 34th street on TV with popcorn and candy
The fireplace roaring waiting to see Santa’s feet

As we watched the cat play with his cat nip Santa bait
the clock struck nine with the children's eyes still,
filled with magical dreams the boy’s still sat and wait

Excitement started to dwindle they both looked frustrated
Yet, their determination is what they had looking at
The fireplace roaring waiting to see Santa’s feet

Then a debate how bells, angels and wings were created
This went on for hours then the show was over and still
filled with magical dreams the boy’s still sit and wait
The fireplace roaring waiting to see Santa’s feet

Premium MemberSanta, I'Ve Been Nice

Whiteness falling whirling white swift volley
In the crisp hushed winter's cold bite degree
Nipping flakes light dark night body lolly

Gathers on glass pane quite liberally
Dusk begins to wane, relaxing white sea
Whiteness falling whirling white swift volley

I wake up with the halls deck with holly
Daze, dash down the halls, dive under the tree
Nipping flakes light dark night body lolly

Filled with light , I'm in heaven most jolly
I cheer on one knee, Christmas gifts for me
Whiteness falling whirling white swift volley

The dawn brought new-fallen snow. Oh! Golly!
Outside world cloak in white glitter to see
Nipping flakes light dark night body lolly

Hope Santa knows I've been nice, wishfully
There wouldn't be a single toy; yes siree
Whiteness falling whirling white swift volley
Nipping flakes light dark night body lolly

Premium MemberXmas Time

Long wait is over, the Xmas time's image is in sight
the northern frost drifts in the chilled December air
as the glow of sun-soaked days fades in cold night.

Long wait is over, the Xmas time's image is in sight
fir trees sparkle as stars descend with their glare
in the firmament of my heart they all shine bright.

On branches of decked up pine tree glows my delight
the sound of sleigh bells jingling nearby, I am aware
as the glow of the sun-soaked days fades in cold night.

Long wait is over, the Xmas time's image is in sight
I hear the rhythm of carol floating in the air with flair
with the waves of snowflakes sparkling in moonlight.

I will decorate the alley of my mind with love infinite,
in these happy hours I will be waiting for you to share
as the glow of the sun-soaked days fades in cold night.

While the Xmas candles burn in my essence bright
I will share with you the warmth of the divine flare.
Long wait is over, the Xmas time's image is in sight
as the glow of the sun-soaked days fades in cold night.

balloons! balloons! balloons in colours fly,
white Christmas, glittering snow, bring delight!
soul is singing, heart is bright, hope is high!

Sun peeps orange, peering through, clear blue sky,
lighting up, golden tinsels, floating bright,
balloons! balloons! balloons in colours fly!

cakes, bakes, roasting turkey with sizzling fry,
eager children, rumbling tums, seek a bite,
soul is singing, heart is bright, hope is high!

little twigs, set alight, make fireplace sigh!
crystal balls, Christmas tree, stream rays of light,
balloons, balloons, balloons in colours fly!

red and white, bottles of wine, jingle dry,
table laid, party set, to go all night!
soul is singing, heart is bright, hope is high!

spread your arms, keep the distance, please do try!
wear your masks, wash your hands, those rules are tight!
balloons, balloons. balloons in colours fly!
soul is singing, heart is bright, hope is high!
