Dr Yves Gabriel MD Heart And Vascular Pavilion

A name that whispers on the breath,
A healer in the halls of care,
Where shadows cling and fear holds death,
His steady presence lingers there.

With gentle hands and knowing gaze,
He charts the heart's uncertain sway,
Through intricate and hidden ways,
Where life can falter and decay.

Compassion, like a quiet stream,
Flows from his touch, serene and deep,
An empathy, a waking dream,
For those whose weary secrets sleep.
The holder of life, at times it seems,

When fragile pulses ebb and fade,
A heart beats softly in his dreams,
A life upon his skill is laid.

He sees the rivers, swift and strong,
The steady rhythm, clear and bright,
And when the currents turn out wrong,
He guides them back towards the light.

The ocean's vastness, deep and wide,
Reflects the mysteries he knows,
The surging of the inner tide,
Where health and hope again arose.

And in that space, where tensions cease,
A grateful breath, a whispered plea,
He brings a fragile heart to peace.

Leaf

Lines.

Vascular, photosynthetic ravines,
Cut deeply into the skin;

They morph from scar into the heart's sustenance.

Premium MemberPulsations In a Persistent Pattern

The pounding in my head, a persistent throbbing
A cause for concern says the vascular people
It could be something complex or rather simple
This constant drumming, almost unspeakable,
Which keeps me awake when I should be sleeping
Pulsations in a persistent pattern mimic a cadence
Suggest coming from the innermost cerebrum
Not from a snare, but a tom-tom-like rhythmic drum
Even more pronounced than a cicada’s feral dance
This ethereal pounding heard not by anyone else
For my ears alone this thumping rush deep inside
Like a resentment I should've held in confidence
[A compulsive, secret lover hidden in Warm Springs]
Were it not for the imminent danger to life itself,
Requiring specialized tests only insurance approves
In the meantime, I write lyrics to accompany the beat.

Premium MemberMiracles of Modern Medicine

Miracles of modern medicine disguise mysteries
I have seen incredible advancement over years,
Hospital stays are not extended following surgeries
Success and survival statistics now allay most fears.

Doctors are up on the latest surgical technology
Focusing on their particular specialties as experts,
I could not begin to understand first year biology
I’m just so happy when they can cure my hurts!

My vascular surgeon, born and raised in Lebanon,
Is tops in his field and has the most advanced skills,
When it comes to bedside manner, he’s a paragon
And he’s never even added to my routine more pills!

With carotid surgery, I thought I’d be laid up a week
That’s how long it took many years ago for the same
I was kept only overnight, it seemed merely a tweak
But I’m still having trouble pronouncing his name.

Trees In Spring

Beneath the trees, gazing up, I see
Branches reaching skyward, sprouting leaves,
Filtering rays through the canopy
That cause my eyes to blink breathlessly
From the mosaic, prism colour scheme.

The scenic vista is dynamic
And pleasing to absorb spring’s hypnotics.
These vascular plants drink nourishment
And utilize the sun’s energy
In the process of photosynthesis.

The reality of perception’s direction
Persuades self-effacing resignation
From biased human disposition
With artistic interpretation.
“I pray nature forgives my trespassing!”

Trees in spring of natural beauty
Whose subliminal message I can’t dismiss.
“Human intrusion has been devastating!”
Unwarranted greed condones desecrating
Tangible living poetry in motion.

Heart Song Separation

“We got separated from us last week and I haven’t found you since.” Poet’s Quote

Too long my heart we beat in arrhythmic clashes
Languishing in sudden cardiac heart arrest
Out of sync creating dark vascular ashes
No phoenix rises from heart disease - never rests.

Too long my song we argue over melodies
 Distracted by atonal hallucinations
Dismissing cradle songs of haunting rhapsodies
Elusive harmonies hide in cache creations.

Too long my words we engage in rhythmic stand offs
Glaring at my silent muse - tense verbal showdowns
Impasse of wills – procrastination’s folly doff
Disguised in masks adjectives appear as pronouns.

My aimless soul seeks union with lost heart song words
Remembering your quiet smiles of peace fullness
Your velvet vesper serene these mourning tears blur
As twilight yearns in midnight’s hypnotic stillness.

Too long my heart we beat in arrhythmic clashes
Too long my song we argue over melodies
Too long my words we engage in rhythmic stand offs
My aimless soul seeks union with lost heart song words.

The Tallest Palm Tree

Look up to the majestic sight
Towering canopy of green
Wide-reaching fronds
Bold, confident, courageous.

A tale thrilling to tell
Hurricane eruptions,
Of seasonal disturbance
Bold, confident, courageous.

Morning sun-rays filter now and then
Blocks of color
Slight variations of gray
Stand bold, confident, courageous.

Baby palm look up to the majestic sight
Amongst others on sandy beaches
Aspire to tell stories of survival
Stand bold, confident, courageous.

New plantings, appearance
Vascular tissues, circular vessels
Baby palm trees grow tall
Bold, confident, courageous.

A tale waiting to tell
The next seasonal disturbance
Stand bold, confident, courageous.

The tallest palm tree
Vie survives

"Amid the jagged shadows of mossy
leafless boughs;"
                        Samuel Taylor Coleridge

Earth Rips different
Not like cloth

 tearing, sharp, painful sounds
Thicker cloth nêe bursts
baritone harshness

Ripping from earth, done
solemnly, knowing greater
calamitous unearthing is
certain, feels like bursting

Buttons, brief Eyelash

Flash of shock, something
missing, phantom pain some

Describe

My drying herbs, roots and all
Gave up this way, by my hand

As the 70' Norway Spruce Pine
in front of 30 Rock NYC
Slowly weeps tears of sweet sap

Squeezed from constricting veins
Machines surprising vast

Vascular networks of life below
Ground

Forced abscission really

Slowly dying, withering, shackled
In stantions for all to admire in
Spectacled holiday lights

Politicians virtue-signal righteous
Uses for its sublimated limbs

Sticks of assorted stature for
Sordid assignments...

I'll spice my curries
with my hand-pulled

Nothing Smells Like Heart

overprotective
like ink in a scar tissue
you said I'm stuck in a bad version of a life
and gave me your life mask as a present

now I have an owl in my iris

you've cloak me in aluminum foil
so I can be preserved for later
and settled in the last drawer
to watch patiently how you consume
some other, tender pieces
as my vascular system hinders your digestion

waiting hidden under this metal sheet
through cheap fragrances I'm covering the indications of putrefaction
just in case you decide
to place
one more plate

mine

but you've settled me in the last drawer
where surfaces freeze the most
of our muscles
to the bones

bones become unsteady
a fire whirl has thrown us out of balance

now we're seeking
desperately for solid ground
to lean back
as the option of leaning on one another
is off the table

The Denouement

My heart weakened by its innumerable years
continues to flutter its plangent beats. An
ancient maple tree, its leafless naked branches calls
for me to rest beside its protective scaly bosom,
for it sees a messenger perched upon my shoulder.

I feel its pulsing inner core gently whispering of things forgotten. My tortured troubled intellect fails to comprehend the language of its quintessence.
My shriveled breast listens and its fundamental
makeup comprehends its declaim.

The benevolent and hospitable giant with invisible
web feet bids me to become part of its composition.
My inner self understands its venerable message for
it whimpers like a malnourished neglected infant
waiting impatiently to suckle its mother.

Oh! If only I could creep into its nucleus and curl up
in a fetal position to expiate my sins while transmuting
my nonspiritual body into it’s vibrant sap and feed its
vascular cambium system so that my essence can once again Return to its natural state.

Premium MemberThe Sixth Lake

Deep within the wooded thick of a coniferous forest's vascular limbs,
A chorus of loons cry in mosaic croons which echo from where they swim.

They swim in a lake, the sixth of eight; a link in a mountain chain,
Forged by the damming of rivers filled by the gathering of rain.

As the birds' words wash across the polish of water sitting still,
Moonlight melts in speculum upon this lake of swallowed ichorous swills.

Rooting For 8 To 5

We mine the soils with our wooden picks
cutting slower than any human eye can see
digging for ancient minerals in pockets of water
to send above through a vascular cambium highway
we won't rest again until dormancy or death

The Social Tree

The most social thing on earth
Social than the Social Networking Sites
Tall with straight uniform trunk
Unbranched trunk topped with a
Tuft fanlike or featherlike leaves.

Cresting with a plume of long feathery fronds
Making a graceful silhouette of unique beauty
With spiral arrangement of its wood fibers
Which makes it a tree of unusual suppleness and strength

Large evergreen leaves
With bundles of vascular tissue
Scattered throughout the trunks.
Abundant throughout the tropics
And thrive in almost every inhabitat therein

The quintessential image of relaxed and elegant lifestyle
A good friend in need,
A good friend indeed
Because of its versatility,
Many people cannot do without it.

Having as many uses as the year has days.
And noted for productivity in the bible
Imagine the way it comes to its full bearing
After ten to fifteen years on earth.
And still continue to bear for nearly a hundred years.

Of great economic importance,
Providing food, fibre, wine and oil
Widely used in landscaping for its exotic appearance
A useful ornamental tree
This social palm tree
