BRUISED STAR
You can not make omelette
Without breaking some eggs,
There is no Star
Without a scar
And the indelible scar
Of every sky-laid star
Keeps him on a par
With them who holds power;
Power to a creative clay
Is power kept in a boxed explosive
Which births the rise
And fall of men.
Human is not an error
But to error is human,
Swept sparingly away
In flooding ferocious sins,
Aeons of unrepenting pains
Foolish tattered tears
Coated with swirling fears,
Fog of confusion gathers momentum,
Heard from the blackened bars,
Parted were the dark clouds
As the plethora of light pierces.
Stars can't shine without darkness
But in their stride
They take all the rain daggers
To become the hero
That create a legacy
And rewrite history
Without a pen.

I sense him watching with amusement
at my foolishness,
though I have need of him
else I would run amok.
Yet sometimes I resent him for his caution.
Let him play within his spirit world;
for mine, though just a fantasy
outranks his in its solidity.
I must admit it is the best
illusion I could ask;
for though I know that time
may only trickle out at my life's close--
the world is on a suicidal binge,
whiIe I may stay the game
if I remain within the present, cling
to it tenaciously; mine is not
the gloomy prophet's role. I am
the celebrant, the last remaining lover
quite as much adored and unrepenting,
thank you, as your bleeding Lord.
No,
I do not mock him as do those
with ears which will not hear
or hearts that will not bleed.
I mock your truth...and as I speak my own,
that too is just a hollow creed.
May I instead look up, enabled
(not at all enlightened by pure truth)
rather by desire to sense its fire within,
where words may never win the day..

Unrepenting you start
from a sore point
to ask an explanation
from an eclipse of the sun.
unreviving,
a corpse, the moon carries the burden
of light, on its bloodied shoulder
for burial in dew.
Half the century we were
reciting the prayers to open
a blocked artery of a dying god
who would not share our bandages.
The bride steps out
from dark,
unveiled, and undoes the hairs.
There was fire in her eyes
and ice on her lips.

Unrelenting
Unrepenting
Disingenuous incensing
Broken promise
Faulty premise
Drunk with grandiose suggesting
All chaotic
Schizophrenic
Catatonic
Photogenic
Served with Pennyroyal tea
Pinched with acid hydrochloric
I'm the grain of salt that's taken
as my core is always shaken
I refuse to see I'm free
when my gifts return forsaken
