When its yours you understand it follows
That its a sillouette n your the model
That depending on you it may fill the room
That even in light it may also seem gloom
What if it hovered and wasn't your truth
It weighed heavy although a hollow proof
Nomatter how you ran it overshadowed you
N when you looked behind it wasn't you
How do you escape what doesn't come from you
What your only able to see as a recognized bruise
That never goes away lingers like the breeze
Stings when you run like a bumble bee
When u try n try to see your light
But you realize it was never your fight
Just lived inside a bitter aloe
That became your uprotected shadow

UNPROTECTED
Nerves exposed in raw, deep tender tones
Emotions on overload for fear of no one caring
Life hanging in the balance cradled in the hands
Of the incompetent fearful of the outcome
Wanting to choose life through the pain
Clinging to the notion that the feeling of
Anything lets us know we are alive.
Fighting the want to give in and become numb
This line is so thin crossing so tempting
Straws building to the breaking point leaving
Backs grossly twisted, something has to give.
Predictions of life ending too soon at the hands
Of the neglectful feeling unprotected.
Uncared for by the people who don’t know
How to do their jobs, it’s only ever about the money
Do what you do to the fullest people, lives hang
From the rafters of your apathy
Our lives flow day by day in a continuous motion
We have a rhythm, if not felt we trip sending
The next human into despair interrupting the
Prospect of what could be like dominos we
Fall into the darkness leaving us as children
Feeling unprotected.

Have you ever been under a tree that rains
No protection from the elements this night
Birds fly all around this monstrous tree of pain
Ravens, crows look for victims, those that won’t fight
Ghosts are said to live inside the tree’s dark limbs
I get wet, fearing birds, watching the ghosts swim
There is no safety under this horrid tree
It’s just not the kind of place I want to be

Who protects regular citizens when the world at large has gone mad?
Since those who have been ordained to protect and serve have lost their
integrity and nerves,
They have crossed the line between good and evil,
by working on the fast track with criminals,
Who protects ordinary folks from them,
while they double-deal and create mayhem?
Or does everyone in Authority just look away,
making them unaccountable.........?
