Dancing circles in the air
Pirouettes to seek and share
Feathered frenzy of delight
Such a wondrous, joyful sight
Framed by windows paned of glass
As I feel the morning pass
Wings that catch the dawning breeze
Entertain my heart with ease
From my station, perched and warm
Guiding me through every storm
Birds of yellow, red and blue
Dip and sway in fluttered hue
Free and fair and all things sweet
Minding me with every tweet
Life has soarings yet unflown
Dancing circles of my own

Please don't be mean to me
Don't shut me out.
Please be kind to me
Don't blame me
for all this pain about
Please give me a chance
to dance
to different drums
in dialects disparate
as wildly scattered crumbs,
unknown
unshown
unflown
not quite grown.
Bless me with a hug
and not a sharpened shout.
Look me in the eye
and tell me
I am worth your time
in sacred space,
divinely gorgeous grace
here free of fear
through this night's
angry doubt-filled place.
Please embrace this dignity
don't be mean to me,
Take love's fearsome risk
in vast integrity;
Please, please don't shut me out...
Invite me in.

I always felt
when it was time to die
The Muse would know
before you or I
The hours borrowed,
the moments loaned
Return to feelings
and verse unflown
With eyes never clearer,
or heart so bold
I make my exit
—with words untold

Unflown inside her own prettiness
from ground deep, filled with me
lasting touches of feathered beats
heart broken on torn.worn silken sheets
Her lips stain, fresh born in paste
dressed in red petals and icy thorns
silent kisses strained my empty soul
for her scent I have never known
