One Man In the Name of Love

It was never pronounced that MLK or Ludwig Guttmann were thinkers,
Because prime movers are interactive, preoccupied with their cause;
Societal progress is wrought through effort, division and conflict,
Because progress has its beginnings only secured and settled by legal clause.

Jesus was a social reformer, by life and deed and philosophy,
Who waged that the many should have a doctor, not only the rich;
He healed in the name of love, with intellect as his engine,
And his unjust death sufficed for future generation’s mention.

Love is at the centre of Christianity in Jesus acts of mercy,
It is this historical story that has been trampolined by divinity;
The heart of Jesus is misrepresented for cultural standards mandatory,
Equality of right was bid as medicine’s saleability, not selectivity.

She thought of herself as Dorothy
tornadoed into an unknowable oblivion
winded she rises,
fetal curled about an umbilicus of she
a shattered reality lays before her.
Shards of past self's pirouette, prisms
released from the boxed frame of sash
and nested frame of sill,
she rises.
The crisp whiteness of a slip sheeted reality
anesthetizes the tumult of pillows
and comforters left behind
she is trampolined upward
but blown inward,
no out lay.
Unpierced by cut glass
chin tucked, bookless, fairy groomed,
the she child exists within the blink
a flash frozen riser.

Aquatic Afterthought.

I siphoned you, from off the pale skin of the pool
pollen thin and yellow dust,
sweet gone by and ready to slip to soil
hindered by chlorine
and tap danced on by a thousand night bugs
who trampolined in silver ripples
when only the moon was looking.

I spat you out, rust and tang from the old green hose
which sat coiled beside the tin shed's feet for decades,
a home for woe-begotten weeds
and that old rake with no handle
which once I used to pull down pieces of the sky
in a demand for rain.

It's all for naught on this summer day
as the riddle of affection comes full circle and presses
it's nose against my thoughts

I cling to the vinyl wall, mere seconds,
before pushing off with pruny feet
to take a dip.

Little Conversations

A running conversation stood catching it's breath
on the hill of decision, on the day of it's death
In an effort to stop the inevitable flow
of the moon in it's belly on a mission to grow
It stepped to the edge of the hill and transpired
with verbiage gone ancient and aching for fire
It stood up on tiptoes and opened it's mouth
to let the sun in, or to let the moon out
This running conversation was made up of air
and moods of the moment and bent silver hair
which reflected the sun in an effort to stir
all the things that it loved while he motioned to her
It took a look down to the Pool of Dissolve
and felt the earth shimmer within it's revolve
In an effort to keep conversation alive
it trampolined toes into a swan dive.
