this is the third time
hubby’s rung the cancer bell
since twenty nineteen

we’ll never lose hope
his cancer can’t be beaten
and cherish each day

I now love to write
poems to invoke laughter
and to make folk smile

life is for living
humour makes a difference
use YOUR pen wisely

me like
still sorrow
as birds return
to nests from sad
sky bringing on their
wings the distant music
of the drifting clouds from
the departing day sinking slow
in the horizon I hear in the wind
on which floats the chime of a far
away bell ringing a  soft voice of
someone calling that sets me to
a journey inward where I find
my soul silently

To write
like me
You must 
think like me
And see
like me
And feel
like me

To write
like me
You must 
ask not tell
For words
rung clearly
By fortunes

BELL TOLLS RESPONSE

Darkness beyond reach
Disobedient teach
Wrath having no respect
Adjusting atmosphere elect
Bells and Tolls
Scorns in thorns
Fire in anger
Life’s short moments
Whom in doom
Happenings centered at noon
Tolls for you
Didn’t pursue
Earth craters separate
A world full of hate
Human Create
Doom on the hour
Time expired
Devastation for all

Tolls the count

As the world community
Asks Israel to stand down.
Hamas murders with impunity
Then flees underground.

Isreal lives under scrutiny
And still held to account.
While terrorists have freedom
To pass their AKs around.

Free countries need unity
Not gloomy storm clouds.
When we stand together
Evil cowers in a shroud.

Thus, let us speak fluently
Yet justly so out loud
For murder there's no Immunity
And God tolls the

cancer eradicated
we remain hopeful

the bell’s rung three times
radiotherapy done
life begins again

live for the moment
we are never complacent
cancer may return

cherish your loved ones
embrace life, it’s all too short
cancer is a thief!

could navigate
to stay so far away
from the idle brambles.
Transcending into oblivion.

To retrace the journey so far.

Return from whence we were.
No wise, guiding light to follow.
Search for a better way forward.

We stand apart on pavements, heads bowed as you pass by,
towards the dappled graveyard where with God, in peace you’ll lie.

Before you were a stranger, but in death you’re so much more,
a fallen comrade who fought our mortal enemy in a terrifying war.

We come together, a kingdom united in battle against a common foe.

You are told there is no pandemic.
You are told it’s all a hoax.
You are told it’s a deep state conspiracy.
Three thousand deaths here,

Flying high visions of mountains past

Floating high to the stratosphere soaring high
 in the atmosphere eagle soars bright
