A girl with excessive libido
Was walking the streets of Toledo
A sailor she found
She said, "for a pound
Please sir, can I see your torpedo?"

A swindler who frequents Toledo
has Fools Are Born To Be Canned as his credo
Scamming the mob by mistake
he made a hasty break
He now fences had soap in Escondido

A Con-man's way out
Only in cases of emergency
Like the fire axe behind the glass
Only this is more deadly
Way more sketchy
Die with the lie
A mark gets wise
Gets hip to the jive
Catches on
Smells the cheese getting stinky
Eyes shift as reality comes to light
Can't let them find out it's all a lie
Make a decision!
It's about to get hinky!
Confidence is gone and it's time to fly
Make like some titties and bounce
Only one way out!
The Toledo Panic Button!

Sometimes you say words that hurt me
sometimes you don't deserve me
and you often make me cry
but you are Home
you are Home
you...are...Home
When I've lost all my fight
and I've got no more left to give
its you that's there to remind
me it's not you the struggle's with.
Its bigger than us, its bigger than this.
With a war raging on inside
I've got to run away and hide
but you are Home
you are Home
you...are...Home
You've taught me everything I know.
Don't want to get to where I'm going
the cheap way, the sneaky way.
Like Scarlett O Hara
and her Father's love for Tara
she didn't understand
until the very end.
I make enemies of friends
and dream of Michigan
but you are not the problem.
I am.
Trying to leave you behind
on your own train tracks on the East Side
tightly tied.
But this soil is mine
and for once in my life
I need to simply reside
here.
You are Home.

when i was a lad about thirteen twas the prettiest town you,ve ever seen
you could go downtown late at night and see the shimmer of glimmering lights
that was a long long time ago the lights were lit on theatre row
not much to see now after dark just seagate center and promenade park
now do you think that you and i could do one thing before we die
do you think we could restore the beauty that was here before
lets take the banks from the middlegrounds bring the theaters back downtown
put some inexspensive eaterys back bring back places like tiedtkes and jacks
our city fathers sure must see how great it was for you and me
had lots of folks come to our door in this city on the maumee shore
folks would come from miles around to see the beauty we had found
yes we used to wear a golden crown right here in toledo town
