Just because I'm working on my mental health
Doesn't mean I think I'm better than a person who chooses to stay unwell
It just means
I'm working on my internal dialog daily, and I'm not perfect, at the very least, well.
I'm working on making myself content with knowing the past versions of myself

One was politically, a dedicated liberal.
The other was a staunch conservative.

They both were Christians and patriotic 
countrymen, rendering to Caesar his portion,
and offering to God their devotion.

As the two relatives debated,
some hurtful words were stated.
The dialogue became offensive
and too personal when one said to
the other, "You have been brainwashed".

Dolce Far Niente

Imagine there's nought to do today
In the gentlest, 'let it be' kinda way.
No clock's insistent hands to allay,
No hurried 'to do' demands to obey,
When the peace of stillness has sway,
When 'what does it matter' to delay
Makes worries gently fade away,
Into the background noise, to play
At another time, in another place, to flay.

Oh it's timeout time my friend
Will you ever seek to be free
These chains will not break
For they hold one from below
That will not let one go

Timeout

As the snowdrops, tulips, and daffodils sprout,
snow melts all about.

The air lost its nip,
so, icicles drip.

Snowflakes, seldom seen,
white morphs into green.

And to welcome spring,
a Robin takes wing.

As the snowdrops, tulips, and daffodils sprout
there is little doubt,
winter’s in timeout.

We are forced to stay
where thoughts echo;
like children on "Timeout"!
We huddle in our cozy corners,
though no corner's cozy
     when imposed -
left to lament our distancing

what we've done and
