par le son frémissant du saxophone ;
ses notes flottant sur la Seine.

Gouttes de pluie grises, bleues et cerisiers en fleurs ; un sourire subtil sur des lèvres rouges,

rappelant la beauté et les heures passées ;

Premium MemberPatio Letdown

there’s something dreary
about a terrasse drenched in rain
can’t help but take it personally
like a missed invitation
to an afternoon drink with friends
or a cancelled party

a dull hush lacks warmth
too early or too late
no one at the rendez-vous
no welcoming sunshine
stood up by the host

a final rinse
the rain lets up
the earth on pause
before the sun breaks through
and sets everything on cue

Premium MemberApril shower

Café tables on terrasse drenched in rain ~
everyone’s indoor as if on hold
waiting impatiently for the sun to come out.

April showers bring may flowers
but we aren't happy to pay the price ~
meanwhile the rain stubbornly won't let up.

Premium MemberWhen Summer Turns To Fall

a gratifying and unexpected delight
one last kick at the bucket
summer's claws hang on
tearing a strip off autumn's plans
to settle in for the stretch

i answer the call of a seductive sun
that leads me on a determined hunt
for a terrasse that awaits
where i can sit and soak in
these most precious solar rays

ah success... i find a nook and unwind
as i enjoy the embrace of a loving warmth
its energy penetrates to my very core
i'm happy to prolong my goodbyes
and feelings of intense gratitude

The Tempest

another tower, rising up the skies,
a high terrasse, a night, a starry weather,
a caviar, a bird of paradise
for every towerer, a golden feather
on tux’s sleeve…
                         all of a sudden strike
of lightning in the pyramid of glasses,
shards! thunder! screams! crush in the dark! a spike
of panic, a lead cloud that amasses
new rage at arms’ length, furious wind gusts,
first drops of rain as bitter as the tears
that flush away ambitions, dares, lusts,
and hopes of the new babylon that nears
its end…
             a soggy bird of paradise,
another tower, rising up the skies.

Terrasse Dufferin

As the night air warmed us,
The music had drawn us,
To the ambience of the Terrasse Dufferin.

We were mesmerized in awe,
To all that we saw,
As the music and dancing went on.

In the warm air we could smell the St. Lawrence,
The river that brought our ancestors before us,
And for that moment the past was present for us.

We didn't want to depart,
The moment captured our hearts,
Suspending time from the very start.

We took all that we saw with us,
The music, dancing and the scent of the St. Lawrence,
And all the charm of the Terrasse Dufferin!

Premium MemberLonely Hearts Cafe

She rounded up the lonely ladies from the building
Drove them for lunch at an outdoor terrasse
Dropped them at the entrance then circled and circled
Finally finding parking before rejoining the group
As she finally dropped in her seat letting out a sigh of joy

“What a most magnificent day!”

The old miserable bitties piped up in unison... “not bad”

Summer At 8pm

The daytime radiation changed the forenoon breeze
And the windows were kept close
Flames hemmed in my room from the furnace terrasse
Brought my afternoon snooze at dispose.

Abounded myself from my brazier bed and stepped on the het up floor
And outcried mutedly against the cataclysm
Pelted along to take a bath, water pour out perceived to be boiled more
Brought all my desires against summer’s pragmatism.

The awaited evening was bored by the midday coercion
And the fun fancied by the birds those choir
Slowly by the virtues of lyricism, windows were open
Versed the liaison where the vanity fluxed by the twilight zephyr.

Eased myself from my midday muted hollers and trod on the stairs to the terrace
And felt the birds nested as the breeze became soother
Prostrated along to feel the charm, stars twinkled by their self-reliance
Brought all my desires worthy at 8pm with summer’s be after.

The quiesce voice of the leisurely leaves by the solacing breeze
And the dim rays that softened the ambiance
Noetically by the oath of imagery shadows that molded by my ease
Comeuped with this summer rhyme at 8pm by my essence.
