“Reality”
I am a Jaguar.
Brownish-yellow fur, patches of black markings
resembling of a rose.
I search for food
Stalking my prey behind trees, 5
But there are none.
I walked a million miles,
All for nothing.
Struggling to hunt
Bearing the brunt. 10
I am a sloth,
A sleepy sloth that is.
We are as cool as cucumbers
And as mellow as the color yellow.
Two-toed sloths 15
Three-toed sloths
We are all the same.
We hear trees crashing to the forest floor.

BOOMMMM
It is not the same.
The same…it is not.
Our homes are destroyed,
Humans are overjoyed. 25
I am an Amazonian Tapir.
Related to horses and rhinoceros.
When young, white stripes and spots are visible,
Eventually fading overtime.
We are great swimmers. 30
Running into rivers
Away from predators.
Our habitat is shrinking.
I hear animals yelp for help.
Resources become scarce, 35
So do the others.
It is difficult.
Nature is a temple,
Representative of light, unity and purity.
Without change, we are doomed…including you. 40
J-aguar hunts for prey,
B-lack-spotted cat kills tapir,
B-easts run away fast.

Now don't think me mad
Or one of those crazy chicks
Because I believe that Unicorns
Really did exist
Don't roll your eyes
Or make that face
Just humour me
And I will make my case
You see I was one of "those"
A horse crazed girl
And for my grade six science fair
The Horse
Its history I did unfurl
From the dog sized Eocene Eohippus
Family lines that include the Tapir
To lineage linked to the Rhinoceros
I ask
Can you assert without fear
That an equine beast with a single horn
In the forest did not disappear
As the rhino's horn is made of hair
It is possible no fossils would be found
So on my faith that The Unicorn
Did exist (and might still)
I firmly stand my ground.
