Life is like a hurdle race
Tangible and invisible hurdles
In your way
Even a childhood dream isn't simple
If you have passed all the hurdles
The world will be your oyster
But sometimes as you look back
You found that you have failed some
And you didn't jump the last hurdle
Because the whistle blew
And already time's up

It's always
A tangible line
Past leaving
And being left
Behind
It's ransomed
At ready
With no deal
On the crook
And makes for
A mention
Beyond the less
Or the look
It's never
Outspoken
Yet the clear's
An afar
In whispers
Not ready
To see best
Past a scar
It withers
And witnesses
For the cause
With a stain
Yet always
It answers
For the sweet
With a name
It's elsewhere
And closer
For the next
With a how
Then away
In a steady
Of a near
For a now
It's over
And under
For no claims
With a hand
Yet always
It answers
With a start
For a stand
It's long
And it's clearer
With no cares
On the line
Yet beckons
With borders
In a close
With a mine

An Animal Tangible with a Cannibal
knew an animal
we think can be tangible
with a cannibal
what we said out loud
about things are always proud
to God have head bowed
heard that a bunch of
Indians who are half assed
were called semi holes
have called home a lodge
ran over in my garage
now need a massage
say it enough times
everyone will believe it
so say it again

Confession
by Michael R. Burch
What shall I say to you, to confess,
words? Words that can never express
anything close to what I feel?
For words that seem tangible, real,
when I think them
become vaguely surreal when I put ink to them.
And words that I thought that I knew,
like "love" and "devotion"
never ring true.
While "passion"
sounds strangely like the latest fashion
or a perfume.
NOTE: At the time I wrote this poem, a perfume called Passion was in fashion. Keywords/Tags: confession, confess, confessional, confidence, words, talking, excuses, tangible, real, surreal, feelings, love, devotion, passion, perfume, fashion, false advertising, hype

As we look forward
to a (Revolution)
in living and loving
the retired life.
I was hoping my wife,
who is teaching me
how to speak toddler.
Would lead me to a
(Spontaneous) (Fixation),
to (Patronize)
our two year old granddaughter,
and (Navigate) the (Portal) of some
(Tangible)(Intrigue).
And provide the older grand kids
with some exciting games
and entertainment.

We patronize those ships
that traverse these oceans,
for they sustain a set schedule
and not as spontaneous as others.
Their fixation of the seas proves their
genuineness and the portal to our harbor,
is easy to navigate. That revelation fixed the
mood for intrigue amongst the crew of the ship
while they go portside tangible to their sister ship.
Our patronage is then recognized as each lay anchor.

Never mind...
what people you don't know
from Adam, or from a can of paint
think of you.
Negative or positive.
Here are three...
important questions to ponder.
What do you think of yourself?
Are you truly happy?
Is life fair and grand to you?
If you answer yes to the last two
then my dear friend...
you needn't worry
your pretty little head
needlessly.

The cold air grips at my lips for survival
As the night slowly pours over the land
Sleepy stars playing peek-a-boo with forlorn clouds
The broken moon tilts and wanes
and shadow puppets contort
and dance in delight
Sounds stretch and yawn
and fold the air around me
The silence is tangible
The death of night
wraps me in its weathered cloak
hidden from the nightmare day
Icicle skin and unforced tears
Wind blows with history filled dust
of gone and yet begun
but nighttime feels as home
until sunlight kills the rest
and another moment born

I want someone to trace the angles of my body without judging
Touch very scar like I’m precious
Deal with my temper without budging
I want someone to look into my eyes and see my soul
I want them to look at my wounds and still adore me
I want them to know that I’m someone worth loving
I want them to lust my body and love my mind
Love me without boundaries
Love me without thinking
Love me tenderly
Caress my heart with sweet words
Love me although I’m far from pure
Hold me dear to their heart
Just hold me to convince me you’ll never leave

A tangible love I love to love
I've touched love one billion times
I've held hands in every rhyme
The rhythm of my heart betrays me
With every palpitating poetic line
Is it a sign?
Of true love a love divine
the will of the love
Struck heart be done.
I touched her face I've claimed
A delicate space in her heart between
The velvet lace and poetic paradise
Love is there
If the rhythm of the heart does
Not flow on, this love be gone
The heart moans a TWILIGHT song

In India some gods come in cast systems
Deity solids molded
Gold plated with a hint of soul
Orange blossoms grow in China
They touch and feel of divinity
Italians keep images of Him on the mantle
Crucifixes around the neck when they go out
Enchanted Indonesians go bump in the dark
They know when they hit into something old
Embrace the cosmos
Made of flesh made in His own image
In space meteors bounce off of Him
They tickle

You caused me to dream
again.
Dreams are no longer a
thing of the past.
They are tangible and ready
for me to grab,
You make me feel like super-
girl.
And there's no dream too big or
small.
As long as I believe I can achieve,
and that I must not be afraid
to fail.
Because failures lead to victories
as long I get back up and try again.
You said by doing this my dreams
become clearer and clearer,
Next, the dreams will be my reality.
Thank you for believing in me.
I believe in you right back.
Dedicated to anyone who has encouraged
to me follow my dreams.

The typical intro,
A moment of reflection,
Philosophical conversation with my glass veil is ago,
I swear she's the perfect audience lacking in cognition but excellent in reception,
Shameless in anonymity and thoroughly content being one-dimensional,
An afterthought emerged from reverberating echoes,
Rationalizing a fantasy through demented reality and an appeal to logos,
External concern expressed through intellectual opinion against a majesty outside the realm of scientific convention,
A slight ringing in my ear,
The hazing of the eyes,
My hand presses against the screen and a genie appears,
her technicolor smoke-screen muffles sound and blankets sight,
Far beyond my mortal boundaries I reach,
Into the land of impossibilities ignorantly called "make believe",
Calling upon my polygonal masters from this pulpit I beseech,
That your realm of tangible thought be opened to me,
Allow me to apply my humble craft in hopes of conveying your magnificence to the world,
So that they too will experience your wonder,
Before they grow too old.

What things does one possess
at journey's end?
What bits and bobs? What trivial tripe?
Please, do tell, what is the hype?
For should I recall anything at all
of trinkets obtained in memory's shawl,
it would be the warmth of a companion's smile;
his hand in mine, while on this earth for a while.
The tickle of a tide brushing against tiny toes,
while the whisper in the wind, tells me all she knows.
Should I gaze at gems, pearls, rubies, emeralds--
Forsake the wisdom of the solid for the beauty of the temporal?
Should I throw caution to the wind, like seeds for the birds,
or stick to what I know - the solemnity of the written word.
Of trinkets obtained in memory's shawl,
be there anything at all worthy of my recall?
Happiness, Peace, Love and Joy -
these remained to be my one and only lot.
These intangible things more valuable by far
than gold and silver ingots.
At journey's end I stopped to ponder,
in the cloudless starlit night,
about the heavens and her wonder;
I was struck by sudden insight:
the lightness of the moon
suspended in air,
and the weight of a mere thought
that put it there.
