1600 Sutton Lane had not seen people for years
expect mice, raccoons, maybe squatters
why do this?
Why? Why? Why?
No one would go with me
Fearful of dying
I laughed
Halloween is a joke for me
A bet is a bet
this one would be lucrative
pay for wedding flowers
I was all in
first couple of hours were fine
a bit dusty
some sneezing
no big deal
a flash to my right startled me
it began to zoom around the room
an entity of some sort
my heart was beating overtime
blanket went over my head
I could not calm down
frightened to death
I am silent now

Itchy Fingers?
I don’t mind dying in a nuclear war.
As long as it’s quick, not a lingering bore.
It’ll give the elite a chance to see the cloud.
Kill off the plebs in a crimson shroud.
I know their fingers are itching.
To press the oblivion button.
See what happens,
from Moscow to Sutton.
and all the places in between,
They’ll watch it from their bunkers.
All the beautiful people I mean.
The psychopaths who own us
And control our pointless lives.
We the workers who feather their hives.
So, press it Musk, Trump, Putin and all else
Hidden in your bunkers focusing on self.
Obliterate the world.
And the useless kind
You can do it to me.
I really don’t mind.

Tradition.
Cast aside by noise
As worldy attention
Tears and cloys
Permission.
For generous space
To return to stare
Full into the face
Decision.
To walk a monastic way
Brief encounter
At the start of the day
Listen.
To the space in-between
Where God himself
Chose to intervene
Condition.
The soul and heart
Through stillness
Let the healing start

For many years have spent holidays at Southport
mostly have had lovely warm sunshine
so nice to sit in towns garden to relax
receiving the sun's warmth so very fine
Looking back on the town's history
it all began at the end of the 18th century
William Sutton built a bathing house
at the beach, it was to jump and bounce
Then the area became a settlement
where William built his own hotel
the south port hotel was called
at end of 19th century, this all did gel
The town now grew to 32, 000 population
in those days not knowing what was to come
for now, it's 90, 000 folk live there
now to visit Lord Street is an occasion
So Mr. Sutton's hotel took its name
to call it the town of Southport
but no one knows why its on North West Coast
maybe it all was supposed to be south fort!
(It's interesting that most folk when asking about Southport think it's on the English South coast when indeed it's on the North West coastline, so this is a little info on how this lovely town all came about. )

You have been accused, no more do we need
Point the finger at mother and daughter
Two Sutton girls with no chance to be freed
An impossible test, trial by water
They think you are spawn of the devil’s own seed
Sacred water denies you, twice you float
Only that of a witch, feet and hands bound
Would rise to the top in only petticoat
Perhaps better off as an innocent drowned
No executions at the bottom of the moat
A no win situation, death guaranteed
Guilty or not, your last breath is taken
By an ignorance with illogical creed
Who pointed your way, spiteful or shaken
And called out Witch. - Now the test will proceed

Don't cry my dear, your tears will make
me weak; Be strong, those tears will break
me from inside; Don't cry my dear
task be over within a year.
Call of duty can't be ignored;
you're aware of my role toward
assignment; It's Call of duty
to fulfill job can't be choosy.
Since beginning we're trained to act
fast when the nation calls, in fact
it's commitment; Since beginning
felt such calls are always thrilling.
While leaving don't wish to see tears;
Have faith in HIM, conquer your fears.

Slide Sonnet
The Slide Sonnet is created be Victoria Sutton aka "PassionsPromise."
Like most sonnets, it has 14 lines.
It is composed with eight syllables to each line.
The first half of the first line of each stanza “slides”
to the last half of the third line, creating a unique poetic repetition.
The rhyme scheme may be “aabb ccdd eeff gg”
or “abab cdcd efef gg” or abba cddc effe gg"

In Suffolk where the barley grows,
Its said that folks have seven toes,
And 'round some parts of Sutton Hoo,
They've grown an extra finger too!
They're banjo players one and all,
And tractor drivers but that's not all,
They don't go far when they get wed,
They choose a cousin to bed instead;
So watch yourself and have a care,
If you should wander way down there,
I wouldn't say they're thick or slow,
But your average Snape or Ipswich joe,
Is often found with a throbbing brain,
And his jaw dropped at the sight of planes,
Or wondering where the voice is from,
Bewildered by a mobile phone,
With flowery accent and hint of snarl,
They're more or less Neanderthal,
'Orlroit Boi' they're heard to shout,
When seeing friends round and about,
Then his brain goes into overdrive:
'Oi'll see yer ammara in the pub at foive'
But it's not my personal politics,
To claim they're cider swilling hicks,
This is of course a fallacy,
(though grounded in reality ;p)

(Dedicated to Frank Sutton who died June 28, 1974. He starred as sergeant
Carter.)
Back in the sixties you starred in Gomer Pyle.
Jim nabors quite often got you riled.
Those shows were funny and nifty.
You were far too young when you died at fifty.
You had a temper and you were loud but that's why people loved you.
Millions of people have watched your shows and future generations will enjoy
them too.

Sat all alone here in my room,
surprisingly enough i have no gloom,
tapping away at my keyboard,
this is a cheap one,the only one i could afford,
it gets me on line,i view the world,
some of its good some of it disturbed,
i have learnt a lot from my cheap computer,
now i feel like I'm a world commuter,
emails Ive sent,emails received,
Ive been scammed and badly deceived,
made friends of my own from far away,
this is just awesome what can i say,
knowledge abundant at the click of a button,
from China and America and even Sutton,
well now its time for me to go,
so farewell my new friends i leave with woe.
