A kindergarten student is not usually sent to my office.
I am the counselor, who gets my shares of stirrers.
Usually when a five-year-old is sent to me, they are crying.
This little blonde blue-eyed beauty was not crying.
She had a smug look on her face, actually not a tear in sight.
Find out what happened, the principal said, before she left.
What happened? I asked the dainty cherub.
When?
I am not sure “just now?”
Nothing.
I have to call the teacher to get an inkling.
She was fighting.
You mean arguing?
No I mean flat out fist walloping pummeling fighting.
I look for scratches or bruises but see no evidence.
Were you in a fight?
She nods her head.
I smashed them and bashed him, she told me.
She had a pleased smile.
I am surprised, but not stunned.
I have raised three daughters.
Two of them are tough.
She brags about her fighting prowess.
I find out later this little darling has four older brothers.

horses, lances, arrows, fire
they reenact the war of the roses
the outdoor setting
has been erected next to Costa
outside on the ground
napkins, zarfs and stirrers
and half the audience gets their
medieval caffeine hit
that encourages us to yell and whoo-hoo
and pay attention to history
they encourage us to cheer and boo
and after all these years
with a cappuccino in my hand
i bellow 'long live the king'
and it's socially okay

Aroused within me
Re-awoke as 'twere
Fine senses, fleshless ones.
Make one feel deeper.
All of you lovelies
Honourably blest
Hovered round, so rained upon
Tearily know this.
Blushing, for amaryllis.
More abashed, dearest!

In the dark
ticking of the hall clock
echoes in the dark
the moons silver beams
are sliced ribbons
across the floor
nothing stirrers
nothing moves
shadows sit near the door
darkness is complete
a fire struggles to keep
it’s embers crimson a light
the wind dances
breaking bones
of ancient trees who
silhouettes traces secret
patterns of moonlight
as hall clocks keep
ticking
talk
in the depth of the still dark

Purity of countenance, fellowship of praise,
kindling of braided wax and flaming wicks.
Feel, smell, see, hear, taste
— for the Lord is good.
Soaked in wine, spices, candle and prayer —
cordiality stirred with gentleness and kindness.
Pot-stirrers of all that is good —
smiles, good humor and tongue.
Havdalah!

MY UN-FAVORITE THINGS
Bastards and es
and arseholes and wankers,
Policeman and traffic wardens,
and PayPal and bankers,
I want to bind them with duck tape and string.
These are a few of my unfavorite things.
Gobes, and gossips
and stirrers and preachers
Politicians and Catholic nuns
and Ebay and teachers.
I want to kick them all off the park swings
These are a few of my unfavorite things.
When the night comes
and I`m up for fun
and I`m feeling true,
I simply remember my unfavorite things
and decide to share some with you..

Long shadows fall cool
across the twisting road
the curves out of view
hidden by tall green trees
unseen birds are singing
their songs soft in the air
leaves a gentle rustle
blown by the slow breeze
a distant rumble heard
growing louder now
of something coming
towards me on the road
through the distant trees
bright chrome flashes quickly seen
and pure white flickers
fast coming down the road
bursting quickly into view
leaning into the curb
a rider all in white
on a chrome bike
piercing eyes of blue
auburn hair toss in the wind
the soft curves of the rider
straight lines of the bike
roaring as flashing by a
deafening the sound
the air barely stirrers
Jasmine and Rose fills the breeze
going quickly by
turning with the curve
in a moment done
as the rumble fades away

SHAKERS AND STIRRERS
To illuminate the extraordinary goings-on
in our so tense and deeply twilit terrestrial sphere,
it is necessary to take a long and unhurried
celestial view, one stemming from the stars as it were.
As a bare minimum, observers should note the presence
of a perhaps quite small number of shakers and stirrers,
mixers maybe, groups of men whose secret and sole purpose
is to seed chaos, stymying able mens’ best efforts.
Man is imaginative, a mover and creator,
one who sees a problem, then a myriad solutions,
who sees mud as an opportunity, never a mire;
someone willing, who can and does shape his own destiny.
Good men, who see much, are also blind, for they find it hard
to ascribe destructive motives to the bad of their kind.
(Challenge words : illuminate extraordinary tense
terrestrial twilight celestial stars minimum presence)
