Nursery Rhymes Only Contest - sponsored by Eve Roper
To Eve’s winning contestants, I write this poem for you.
I have read each one and commented till I am blue.
You won’t see them there however.
I’ve been getting an error forever.
Your nursery rhymes are clever, cute, unique, and precious.
It is the comment fields that are the most treacherous.
So know I have read and do wish you congrats!
My non-existent comments will skew your stats.
It’s “Error!” “Error!” “Error!”
I am a “System 500” starer.
Where is that IT repairer?
Should I cross my fingers or say a prayer?
Have you noticed someone staring at you
And pointing a finger at what you do
But when you look around
There’s nary a sound
Nobody, no person
‘Cept you to be found
As the only starer
Snooping for errors
Have you noticed that someone staring at you
Is the same person that you thought you knew
Though it’s hard to behold
That realizing enfold
Along with the shame
When barraging yourself
And doing the same
To everyone else
Why give yourself that negative attention
When you rate more than honorable mention
For just being you
Not what you do
And let others exist
Just as they please
Which as life’s gift
Is handled with ease

I am going to say adios to the movies,
Where cars are houses,
And houses are storehouses.
I am going to say adios to the movies,
Where boy friends are easily found,
But batteries not included.
I am going to say adios to the movies
Where the girls are looking for the fun,
But batteries to be recharged soon.
I am going to say adios to the movies,
***Where a son is enamored of his own mother
*And in bed a father seeks his own daughter
**And blood sister seeks in bed her own brother.
I am going to say adios to the movies,
Where an unmarried girl wants a child,
Her mother takes her to the city ahead,
Taking the cows to a bull like a shepherd.
Leave your message please,
I shall get back to you at ease.
* The movie: Art of crying
** The Cruel Intentions II
*** Julienne Moore starer
