Refining Consciousness Poetry Contest

Have you noticed someone staring at you And pointing a finger at what you do But when you look around There’s nary a sound Nobody, no person ‘Cept you to be found As the only starer Snooping for errors Have you noticed that someone staring at you Is the same person that you thought you knew Though it’s hard to behold That realizing enfold Along with the shame When barraging yourself And doing the same To everyone else Why give yourself that negative attention When you rate more than honorable mention For just being you Not what you do And let others exist Just as they please Which as life’s gift Is handled with ease May 3, 2023

Nice entry, David. I like the way you think, and the way you share your thoughts through your poetry. Be back to read more later. A poet friend in Texas, Bill
