The Divine Light

St. Andrew was closer to Jesus more than the others,
and he followed Him everywhere the Teacher went;
as a fisherman of brave men, he reveled in his intent
to reveal the divine light that illuminated spoken words.

And like Christ he was crucified and suffered;
his blood dripped from broken hands and feet,
but he praised death as a seed falling to the ground
to regrow in a field nourished by rain and heat.
A similar message the Master spoke on His long travels:
the divine light was His gift to the Earth fallen to darkness.

The Divine Light

St. Andrew was closer to Jesus more than the others,
and he followed Him everywhere the Teacher went;
as a fisherman of brave men, he reveled in his intent
revealing the divine light that illuminated sunless paths.

And like Christ he was crucified and suffered;
his blood dripped from broken hands and feet,
but he praised death as a seed falling to the ground:
to regrow in a field nourished by rain and heat.
A similar message the Master spoke on His long travels:
the divine light was His gift to the Earth fallen to darkness.

St. George May not be English
By Bob Moore(c) 2016

St. George may not be English
but he’s England’s Patron Saint
St. Patrick is Saint of Ireland
but an Irishman he ain’t

St David was a Welshman
but St Andrew, not a Scot
the brother of Saint Peter
so Scottish he was not

St. Denis, Patron Saint of France
an Italian was born,
and Spain has the Virgin Mary
we celebrate that special mom

Most patron saints have helped the country
where they are now revered
to rid the population
of the things they have most feared

Legend says St Patrick
chased the snakes into the sea
whether this is true or not
remains a mystery

And did St George slay all the Dragons?
in England’s pleasant land
or is this just a story
passed down from hand to hand

These legends and these stories
are lost in myth, and history
but there are no snakes in Ireland
and in England, no dragons there be.

Premium MemberSometimes I Get Confused About the Gestures At Mass

When am I supposed to Stand, Kneel, Bow Sit Etc.?
The celebration of Mass not confined to our minds
Hearts
Voices is means to involve our bodies as well
 Each gesture is significant
Has meaning.

Standing: Standing is a sign of respect and honor, so we stand when
the celebrant-representing Christ (the priest) enters and leaves. We
also stand for the Gospel, and the bishops of our country have chosen
standing as the gesture we adapt when receiving the Eucharist (the
sacred body of Christ).

Kneeling: In the early days of the Church, kneeling has been the
gesture of penance (reparation[confession]). More recently has come
to show adoration. Thus, we kneel for the Eucharistic prayer except St. Andrew Catholic Church where we stand because we have no kneelers (except in the chapel).

Sitting: We sit for the pre-Gospel readings and the homily in a gesture
of listening & meditation and during announcements after past
communion prayer

Pipers Play ,- Retoune Contest

deep breadth pipers, tune up your pipes
it's Scottish party time once more
come on folks and kick up your heels
lets shake our kilts on the dance floor

it's Scottish party time once more
the swords are crossed we stand and wait
toes pointed ready to sword dance
raise arms into an arch, stand tall.

come on folks kick up your heels
dancers line up, applaud the food
carried in with aplomb by chefs
aroma is so very good.

lets shake our kilts on the dance floor
after eating a lovely treat
a special way to spend the night
St Andrew we drink to thee.
