Rocky squirrel flew through the air
Safely landing precisely where
He wished.
Caught glimpse as Shirley squirrel
(Herself in front of car did hurl)
Was nearly squished.
Rocky had warned Shirley before
Admonition Shirley chose to ignore-
Cars can smite
Such events reveal it's not merely heuristic
Fatalities by car is greater statistic
Than fatalities by flight

Watch the frolicking squirrels
scamper hither and thither,
tree branch to fence, fence to ground.
Follow the leader!
Across a telephone wire,
they dash, then flash down the poles;
scurrying through yards, they play.
Energy to burn.

Frantic squirrel
Upon new fallen snow
My thoughts of you,
Scurrying to go,
I see you,
Squirrel so small
Looking for what,
Food to go,
No fast foods
In your world,
Ground covered cold
Your toes are curled.
Today you run.
You are free.
Tonight I sit
Wondering of thee,
Frantic I am
No squirrel to be
For me, my life
Is life a scam?

His nuts were in the open
He couldn’t hide them well
The females that had noticed
Were under his nut spell
He tried to hide them quickly
But, it was much too late
As the female with the biggest nerve
Did not hesitate
She approached him rather quickly
As his nuts were there to see
While trying to conceal them
He showed her he had three
The look that she had given
Was more than he could bear
So he offered all them to her
As she couldn’t help but stare
She so eagerly accepted
And grabbed them up so fast
She needed to have them quick
For fear they wouldn’t last
She quickly turned and ran
As saddened then was he
But he knew, he did what’s right
As he climbed, then up the tree
