IF YOU PULL A LONG FACE : IX

IF you pull a long face
Being born with a long face bytheway
Then you have at worst a problem face
None will know if you're sad or gay

Now if you keep pulling this long face
Mostly at the dinner table, say
Most would think it a commonplace
To pull the leg off the mint sauce tray

Yet if you keep pulling the same face
Some mugs who thrive on mere hearsay
Might try to pull your long aching face
To pave the way for a new long Broadway

And if you keep pulling that long face
Long as Sphinxes' smirks look from far away
Remember how Ol' Ceasar fell for Cleo's grace
And Antony dragged half-sister to Rome as prey

So if you must pull a long face
Seeing who pulls spiteful faces in disarray
At those faces being belittled for their race
Put on balance long face and Sphinx to weigh

Premium MemberThe Dying Wasp

She vibrates, a chassis minus shock absorption.
A painting, the nude descends a staircase,
rings of Saturn etched in a vacuum tube.
Or Eniac of twisted cords and switchboards.

She isn't programmed to see light beams
spraying through the trees,
nor silver bearings of morning dew.
There are no bees plunging like pistons
in the flowers, no circuit board on the step.
She climbs the jamb as a bot returning to its task.
Monitors flicker as nanoseconds pass unnoticed,
but the galaxy ends at the lintel.

She's a child of Mir, suspended upside down
in a universe where falling isn't death,
but the failure of electrodes.
Then silent as a dead star she descends.
All drives cease functioning.
She is still as a scarab,
the light years casting sand dunes on sphinxes,
until legs spasm as though coding
a final matrix for iron butterflies waiting to be born.

Dunes of Guadalupe

For many years, there the sphinxes lay
Entombed in decorated silent graves,
Whose reminiscence amaze the present day.
When deities emerge out of nine decades.

The lost city unearthed something else.
Myths entrench in fear by the same wind,
Secret elements of powers and fragile pieces,
Those rare mementos buried in the sand.

Prophecy revives the spells outside
Worlds in code of metaphysical status,
Stand resolute where sand dunes subside,
To unleash the powers of dark recesses.

Elliptical shrines lost in the track of our mind,
Defining age with the archetypal grains,
Dunes of Guadalupe covered in layers of sand,
Timeless images enslaved on silent plains.

Where symbolism of the ancient world
Meet beauty and harmony of the new age
Subliminal entities, interpretation of the soul
Incarnation carved out of limestone decrease image.

Summer Dreaming

This is the third
time
I've planted
climbing roses

The first two failed
to fulfill
my romantic fantasy
of
efflorescent roses
flaunting their
naughty
frilly pink bodice
and hooped skirts
draped in loops
like gingerbread
scroll-work
or fleur-de-lis
gamboling,
sauntering
across the white
French trellis

I guess I'm really a
fairy trapped
inside this 5' 8"
terrestrial body
I love how the
amethyst
moon-flowers
with the pentagram
tattooed on their
belly button petals
cast a magic spell
over the garden

And the night
blooming jasmine's
enchanting fragrance
wakens the
dreaming gardenia
and makes everybody
including our blue
eyed ragdoll kitten
a wee bit tipsy

I curl up on my
midnight Jhoola
topiary shadows
crouch
like royal sphinxes
in the starlit
courtyard
and reflecting pools
of water
from summer rains
swirl open their
third eyes
~portals to another
world~

Ghostwriter Madly In Love

Happily piling in,
The discount store games begin
tis the season to be jolly but
Dont ****ing touch me!-
beneath the holly
I dont know where that mouths been
and look at those clothes!
thrift store threads, what hideous throws!
Clank clonk clank, duh
dribbling dance, but i wont get on the dance floor and
Cut a rug!
Im far too fly of a fashion bug
Hairs exquisite down to the longitudinal strand
ha did you see last night reality show?
Come up with phantoms
Sphinxes, and gargoyles-
The honest are misleading
Succubus lies in recline
And snickers at it all
While her parasol protects her
Cuz the demons dont like the sun at all

New Futures Borne

Intergalactic travel reveals some kinks.
Man visited mars and left a sphinx.
Cydonia and Mesopotamia saw new futures borne.
The “Tower of Babel” and ancient technology…men mourn.
Was man’s “spirit world” formerly preserved on Mars?
Did “sons of God” once travel among the stars?
Egyptians learned to build sphinxes to provide for souls.
Their tradition, also, distantly reverenced afterlife’s goals.
The Tower of Babel…great technology…lost.
Travel through the heavens was stopped at great cost.
Many marvels, modern man cannot explain.
A sphinx on a distant planet, mysteries remain.

Brilliant St. Petersburg

Ah, what beauty around!
This day began deliberately.
Even the sky and river Neva have a same a blue colour.
Between them domes fly,
and a thin steeple rises
with a little gold ship at the top.
In the Smolny Cathedral,
the bells whisper.
On the Gulf, calm and silence prevails.
I see unearthly beauty
in the lacy lattices of fencings;
lanterns guard bridges for you,
my St. Petersburg-Leningrad!
Here, palaces have stretched wings.
Here are fountains, as if a mirage.
The architects and masters
of the different countries and epochs
have constructed the Hermitage
next to the Neva.
Delightful cathedrals,
and the most elegant Summer Garden.
This proud facade of city is the fruit of a talent,
the tears and the loving of them.
Stone lions and sphinxes sit observing the Neva.
They look mysterious, even strict,
as if they store secrets and the past of my city
in these restless, difficult days.
I see Nevsky Prospekt in flood of lights,
and the Summer Garden - the SILENCE lives there!
I see for a window of my love and memory
So many different, beautiful days!
