Solstices Poems

As
Winter
Approaches
The sun ascends
From the left of east,
And sets due left of west.
During daylight hours sits low,
After winter solstice, gains height.
Peaking when summer solstice arrives
Then starts its orbital journey once more.

Shines the season brimming with grandeur, rich
In winter... frills of ice and snow bewitch
My pine trees capped with tinsels evergreen :
Comes spring-- dizzy where buds' hues turn to sheen
While air minty weaves on glens to unfurl
My trail scenting walks on plush lanes...hours whirl.

Then summer calls, hundred moths blaze cloud's fire,
Red-hot nights flaming, sizzling moon's desire
To entice a June love I bring to shore,
Till fall chants... boughs spilling lace on damp floor
Relishing life's harvest...true hearts content
When I trace cycles blooming but not spent;

For this spirit thrives on stars, earth,
' neath clay...
I am life that begins and ends each day
Between seasons, time pauses for a while,
As hands nourish solstices that beguile.
For I, God's nature child, could grant relief
Bringing hope for man's journey...root to leaf

Premium MemberSpiralling Motions

Neolithic stones
Majestic motions upward
Bathed in fairy prances
Ancients questioned the meaning
Of the skies above,
Many assuming they knew the truth
Pertaining to solar systems and solstices,
Those humans were created,
Along a perilous journey
That led them to Paradise
In ancient spiralling motions

Small Ramada vacation time
Unutterable sundowns
Mid-solar dawns early sun rise
Many moderate new moons
Ethereal dawns
Respective solid solstices
Thermally heated topical formulations
Idle pastimes individual heated
Many bright days
Early cool daylight heated evening nights

The Cranium and Premium of Injustice

Take society’s attitude
Towards indifference as given
Although women abhor gratitude
For societal foibles forgiven

In the face of the Christian faith
That burns within a woman’s soul
When Providence breath
Scores a salutary goal

In consonance with the motto
One cheek slapped, the other cheek slapped
In a pilgrimage grotto
Where 2Pac rapped

All eyes on me
As though a woman were leper
Society loved to hate with glee
Alongside a pauper with no caper

To boast of
In the sight of men
Who grudgingly brandish love
As an inducement to women

Treated with contempt
Used, oppressed, dumped
In a haughty attempt
To get machismo start-jumped

In the full bloom of the sickness and ugliness
That womanhood suffers
In huge doses of humiliation and sadness
With no compensatory offers

For remorse unfelt
Hair tousled and unkempt
Expectations raised and unmet
In an egregious event and attempt

To gloss over injustices
Unleashed on the fairer gender
In equinoxes and solstices
That demand women’s surrender

Although the new millennium
Demands fairness
In the cranium and premium
For women’s unstinting happiness with boldness.

Eve

EVE

 Made   from     another ,
A  more  refine  product ,
Hips  ,  lips  ,  attractive ,
All other figures in place with perfection.

A  worthy  companion ,
Ask by another  for company
Formed  from the rib .

Tears ,smiles came to be ,
Happiness ,  Sadness  ,  Good  ,  bad  ,
Warmth  , cold ,  love , hate ,

The new companion came with a control room ,
Known to no one but the owner ,
Actions fluctuates like the Equinox and solstices.

Yule

Mother Nature has spoken - it is a rule.
We now moved onward to the season of Yule.
The Oak King has won the traditional duel.
And the weather will not be quite so cool.

We exchange gifts in the way of a game.
And everyone is truly glad to the Solstice they came.
We enjoy the fruits of our labors - a magnificent feast!
With our neighbors from the South, West, North, and East.

We gather with people be they young or old.
As tales of other Winter Solstices are told.
We remember our heritage of long ago.
When to the Solstice we traveled through snow!

We play games and enjoy the company of family and friend.
Our energies and Spirituality within each to strengthen and blend.
Treat everyone like their the greatest treasure!
Filling their lives with much fun and pleasure!

Premium MemberBlue Moon 2016

I’ll light a small fire beside the river that night,
And stand and gaze up to the sky.
Hopefully no clouds, the moon will be full,
A cold second night of July.

It’ll be peaceful and quiet, everyone else in bed,
No buses or trucks or cars.
I’ll stand right there, relaxing my thoughts,
Just looking up through the stars.

I wonder about what others choose to do,
Do when the moon is so pure.
Photography or trading? Hunting or surfing?
Or fishing with a special night lure?

The moon intrigues me; the eclipses, equinoxes and solstices,
The waxing crescent, waning gibbon and a quarter.
And every month I choose a full moon to meditate,
With the sand, fire, air, moon and water.

This is the first full moon after the solstice,
But this July’s a bit more appealing.
It’s this year’s blue moon which can only mean,
There’ll be two nights of spiritual healing.

I Rise and Fall

I rise and fall like spring tides
And soothing autumn winds
Like effervescing chemical solutions
And gliding butterfly wings
I rise and fall

Like aeroplanes departures and landing
And emblems on flagpoles standing
I rise and fall like ocean waves
And the landscape across the land
I rise and fall like someone’s hand

I rise and fall like the sun and moon
Like equinoxes and solstices
I rise and fall like speed on speedometers
I rise and fall like summer breezes
 And the temperature on thermometers

Rhydisias' Dawn

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Vade mecum, standing afore anticipations threshold; joyous awe
While as beholding this blankets golden bed....
Scented late Autumns leaves which lay so still in silence
Restive aneath the solitary branches; blinking eyes
Waiting for a Winters journey to thus commence
A falls brightened reflections, caressing such protege hues
Painting now their truer colours in mint; as they weep no more
Amid the solemn winds which have always been
Solstices arctic bitter, carved by this crescents cold....
Calla Lilly
The magnificent beauty
Unique in its appearance
Used since the days of Rome
Marked in the passage of winter solstices
Treasured and cherished
Lover of water, pure and elegant
Fragrant and bliss
With a tear drop center
Once gracing the royal gardens of Paris
Cut and resting in glass, posing on tables
Clinched together in the arms of a bride
With lace and white ribbons a showstopper
One can’t deny
In a rainbow of colors made for the eye
