Lonely comes in three sizes
The pint is light and floats near you
The quart you must hold in your lap
But, the gallon is unliftable
   and it blocks all sunny paths

My jeans are all stacked in three groups
From slim to the wide hoola-hoops 
     While diets are tedium 
     I’m back to a medium 
My fasting would shock our brave troops 

With nineteen pounds lost in three weeks 
I smile when I see smaller cheeks

The small birds bathe in shallow pool
Somehow claws sink
One follows other link
No matter the weather is hot or cool,

They are very interested in singing
At a time they bathe
They enjoy the both
In social way no sign of quarrelling,

Then, at a high place they all return
To dry up the feathers
And complete prayers
Both useful and funny they are

Don’t forget for a second what we let divide us

                                 Stupid comes
           

Sizes Matter

"sizes matter" chirped the hatter before 
popping the size 8 and 1/4 on his head
and jumping theatrically into his bed
hat and clothes all snuggled into dreams

"things aren't always what they seem"
he muttered as he drifted slowly to slumber
and counted sheep with irrational numbers
shearing off some wooly fractions

then arising after slumbered satisfaction
to further woolgather a daytime

Tall or short,
Slim or chubby,
Good neighbour and real friend,
Rich or poor,
Wise or foolish,
Well-educated or educated,
Traditional or contemporary,
Musical or artistic,

Near or distant,
Writer or poet,
Divine blessings from the Lord.

Small Sizes

How come 50 cents bags of chips
taste so much better,
than their big-bag cousins?
Or 7 oz. nostalgia coke soda bottles
have such a taste, oh, so devine?
I puzzle over such things,
I guess I'm just the wondering kind...
So it follows I should be happy,
To have this shrunken mind.

A life created,
not yet rated,
plenty to bend,
to escape and reshape.
To exist in the lost and found.

Spill my full glass,
make me empty,
then half empty,
then half full.
When I do refill,
spill and spill again,
till I'm once again empty.
Spill a life created,
a version unrated.
Spill the glass.
Smash the glass.
Bend and reshape.
Exist with no shape.

Look at size,
From the atom,
To mountains,
To planets,
To galaxies,
We are aware,
Of a lot of spectrum,
But how much of it,
We can move and use,
Only a little,
Most of it is beyond,
And on a natural “refuse”.
