June 1 Praises to God Bible Meditations Based on Job 7-9

Key Verse – Job 7:17 What is man, that thou shouldest magnify him? and that thou shouldest set thine heart upon him?

PRAISE BE TO GOD WHO SETS HIS HEART UPON US

Praise be to God for setting His heart upon us with His:
Absolute pardon for our sins
Abundant provisions with His supply
Assured preservation midst His salvation
Affirmative promises toward our satisfaction
Assertive power for our supplications along His sustenance

Job 8:5 Praise be to the Lord for inviting us to seek Him while we:
Bow to Him with our praises, blest
Boast about His providence, always best
Bask in His perfection by His performance-brand
Bend before His presence, praying based on the Bible
Brace our backbone’s buttress upon His building-up Book

Job 9:13 Praise be to the Saviour for
withdrawing His anger against us:
Calming us from our fears
Charging our faith’s fortitude
Comforting us by His forgiveness
Compassionately calling us to face His fixing
Challenging us to find ourselves in His faithfulness. Amen!

Flowers affirm my constant love for you.
Sweetheart, prepare to receive these
from January to December:
carnation, violets
daffodils, daisies
hawthorns, roses
buttercups, gladiolus
aster, marigold
chrysanthemum, hollies...
Never will I let oblivion
vanquish my vow*...
So help me, God.

Why I Write Poetry

An assignment given when born again,
not something that I’d have chosen to start.
I had just been forgiven for previous sin,
when God placed this calling on my heart.

I later found that it kept my mind keen,
and I seek God’s help with words each day.
Through wakening bed thoughts I always glean,
but God doesn’t give me all that I say.

Anything resembling talent, I give God praise,
but at times, “self,” has been a stumbling block.
*It’s a vow I’ve made until the end of my days,
and a commitment I’ll keep until out of clock.
Sometimes during days when I’ve little to say,
I’m prompted to question, has God taken it away.

This journey began August 28, 1968

*Ecclesiastes 5:5
Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.

Advising Nigerians Outgoing President

To The Now-Pitied President
No longer thought God-Sent
The making of superb contacts
For entry into cleaner contracts
Is a command to avoid patched-up pacts
And-trust-me – costs you True Logisticians
Besides Sincere Magicians;
If the packages are not to hit the rocks
Or more keys appear with stubborn locks;
“If truly thou seekest a final Turn Around
That shouldest not later sink underground…”

For stiff orders you might bark
And mighty millions earmark
But Glorified Brains the cracked
And Misjudging Misfits the backed,
Progress, sure, shall slack
And one begins to Loyalists sack
The Guys one once shook their hands drop
And their disarming salaries stop…

Now, you are rather The Outgoing
And faster thoughts won’t be flowing,
For so it goes with injury time
While Careless Clock continues to chime
But there really was an F. Kennedy,
After 100 Days, ready remedy…

So, while this Counseling Milk you suck,
I wish you A Suckling's Good Luck.

Live, Don’t Exist

Sometimes due to age,
I’ve found others to be officious.
In refusing their help,
my refusal is capricious.

Help causes me to feel,
I’ve been delegated to the shelf.
And as long as I’m able,
I like doing things myself.

I’d prefer not answering daily,
just how it is I feel.
My new norm is never good,
so I take my days piecemeal.

Sometimes I feel others,
My condition may amplify.
I appreciate concerned friends,
But want to live until I die.*

*Ecclesiastes 7:17
“Be not over much wicked, neither be thou foolish: why shouldest thou die before thy time?”

Indifference

Tis indifference that shameth the soul

for it casteth a burgeoning shadow of sorrow.

Shouldest not compassion stir the soul to move

for such is the sacred sanction and the golden rule;

to love one another and seek thy brothers higher good.

Answereth me now hath empathy averted her eye

insensible to the stings of conscience and the hearts enbittered cry?

Can'st thou with deliberate distain thy neighbors forsake

when to thee his empassioned petition make?

Nay, for this I can avow, the heart raiseth a nobler thought

that the brotherhood of mankind will triumph when forgiveness

and love are sought

I Wanted To Say But I Couldn'T

I Wanted to Say But I Couldn't

I wanted to say ,but I couldn't
Thou shouldest hast realized
Why hast thou not
Who both of us realized .

I attempted to forget thee
But thy face denied it
Thou will forget no more because
Lips and cheeks art sweet thy.

I love thee and I know
Thou love me too
But why thy eyes so sad
All these long night.
