The day yawns
stretches...
like a flower
petals upturned
ghostlike vapors
drift away
Bullfrogs croak
My dog slumbers
the haves and have nots
each has what other has not ~
yet they both know not

Summertime
Laying on green lawns
Long yawns
Watching the clouds
Picking faces out of their shapes
What a great escape
February yawns
Shaking the signs of Winter
Watching for the Spring
Second month
in my attempt
to haiku the year.
The clock strikes twelve
my keyboard yawns
Pleads for me to tuck him in
I say "One more poem"
He says, "You win"
the dawn is breaking
cardinal tweets wake-up song ~
humanity yawns

The Moon yawns, I feel queasy
I yawn, Moon laughs yellow cheese
Ne'er Sun mocks at distraught me,
Just says 'you again'?
the bear yawns
winter hulk blocks exit....
as cub plays

Brother Sun yawns and his breath
Of fire falls on earths’ ground.
Its warmth penetrates and the
Flowers have a stretch.
Northern hemisphere
Farewell to long days of light
Darkness, equinox
Sun decrees our destiny
Nature yawns and people sigh.
Dark shades shield sensitive eyes
when tears are nigh
Before a hitch be heard in the voice
yawns segue to deep sighs
sleepless
restless morning yawns
twilight tossing and turning ~
insomniac moon

we are astonished
at use of labels
assigned to domains
imaginary yet sought after
by fickle desire
of deluded hearts
nonchalance yawns
and moves on
Do you cry
Late at night
When you lie alone
In your bed
With your head upon the pillow
And in your eyes
Yawns the empty bed?
I do . . .
daybreak yawns, the sun then smiles
critters are stirring before their day begins
all is well till the sunset grins
you can see clouds rolling in for miles.
Immersed in dreams deep,
some fairies oversleep,
atop fragrant sunflowers
and then they shape shift,
sharing love’s gift;
divine bliss shower that empowers.
Coffee triggers my brain
God’s Word, refreshes my soul
Cat yawns on my lap

long-sleeping rosebud yawns wide, at long last.
a hummingbird steals a kiss...
most sublime attraction
yawns are contagious
especially afternoon
in a lecture hall
boring professor grouses
needs to freshen up his notes

ahhh...
open-eons
of...
open-yawns
oh! pen yon
as...
opinions
of...
'oh-pun-onions'
now...
open eons
of...
open yawns
are as...
open-onions
stan sand
feathery cloud floats,
drowsy lake yawns, slow sailboats,
warm breeze takes off coats
Creeps the dawn past brooding thunder pillows
Village slumbers
Sleepy dreams
Safely
Home
Wakes
Slowly
Sleepy yawns
Greet clouds high shield
Welcome respite from suns arid display
Soul
Within
Softly stirs
Stretches and yawns
Vivifying form with magnetism warm
Head ovoidal aligns with heart spacial
Sushumna glows
Bliss throb grows
Peace dove
Love
14-October-2020
sparks fire forth
flares flame endlessly
scissor kick infinity
dark souls torment
yawns swallow chaos
1066 scream painfully
future dies abruptly
god cares naught
strangle hopes fruitlessly
Grumpy Grizzly yawns
Hollow tree trunk awaits –
Hibernation
Note: I’d like to dedicate this entry for Andrea’s contest to
Daver Austin, who describes himself as a “grumpy” old man.
