My river of existence flows upward
As I struggle with the narrowing width
While the depth of my water shallows
To that level which cannot sustain joy
The uphill battle to flow consistently
Becomes my daily task, my climactic war
Of a dependency on bettering my life
Today, I am starting anew
Yesterday was an uphill battle
But it build my character
Yesterday, I cried
But I also had time to smile
with the knowledge that my tears
Were not in vain
I released my fear
I also released my dependence
Today might be an ordinary day
But I thank God for the tears I cried, yesterday...
My dear sweet heart!

Life may be an uphill battle,

An uphill battle is all we were or could ever be
We collectively from the outside-in make perfect sense
But two cents and two more
Somehow cannot amount to four
In all your complexity
Bothered with my simplicity
Distant marks so prettily spark electricity
But only momentarily because inevitably
It becomes evidently clear
How terrible we would end
If we ever again set in motion
This train wreck.
As time defies thought of betterment and wishes
We struggle, as an uphill battle ensues for cause
Standing face to face with time, it certainly wins
But, the battle won’s no indication of the war itself
As heart remains, as will is strong, as goodness exists
We will remain triumphant in the war on time
For what missions go unfulfilled, we pass the baton
To the next generation of soldiers of right and light
Girl child born post WWII,
always an uphill battle
killed a Barbie doll or 2!
Tried to show them I was as good as a BOY!
Stars and Stripes in their eyes
Worked for peace but war brought what they prized?
For war you need boy toys.
Civil rights YES, you bet, all God’s children should be free.
Worked all my life to help others,
hopefully it also helped me.
