uncalled and unwitting
I slipped through the wrong door
propelled by the philosophy
of birth marks
and there she's standing
eating a pear under the apple tree
the verminous tree
in sweet naivete
which comes
in many transitions

a sensical beast,
preying on the wits
of the unwitting,
a feast of knowledge,
of words,
eating the world
peice by piece
& each color of joseph's fleece
a taste in the mouth
of the mind.
swallow, gorge it all!
devour anything you find.

Blank verse
If we account
compulsion renders us
tame
A haze engulfs unwitting
thoughts
Of seers our mazy lives
tire
If we speak
our crude torment ensues
Corrected speech and
chains resume
Of grief a woven tale
will craft
If not
we must this day retract...

unwanted, he covertly creeps into my thoughts
lest, to his disdain, unwitting smiles might escape
hope’s thief demands his own satisfaction
abandons me to wither in vain love’s desert
mock him I do when rising spirit permits happiness
control’s power victoriously beats within

Personification
Killing bit of soul everyday
Is only one gun hammer click away
Hidden behind the blanketed curtain
Hidden from sight so sure of a win
And shielded force from the light of day
A murderous horde of sold out souls
Claiming blood beating fearfully cold
For crimes of unwitting imagination
Committed and unsuccessfully sold
Without communication

Falcon of death
Circling the sky
Contemplating choosing
Which one will die
Unwitting prey
Is spotted below
Which one will die
Only you know
Young or old
All are fair game
Even the strong
Not just the lame
One's time has come
You stoop and dive
Taking just one
The others alive
You strike in an instant
You strike without fear
Taking whomever
Anytime of the year

L-et your mind be cognizant,
U-sing your critical thinking;
Z-ealously be apprehensive, know what the risk may bring.
J-ust let your mind be cognizant
A-nd aware of the threat ahead;
V-icious lie of the devil
I-s lurking to deceive your head.
E-arly January twenty-eighth, let your spirit be triumphant;
R-efrain from being unwitting, let your mind be cognizant.

Acrostic
The tiny box of three
Quiet in inconsequence
Cowers to bored night
Theory picket fence
Two fly ice
Chosen expertise and calm
Distress the daily grind
Confused in sweated palm
The faithful forty-nine
Hope and safety fed
Now speak unwitting blank
In bitter contact red
The suffering alive
Peak through bewildered eye
Barred to understand
Such loss in seconds Five

If you knew me for just me
The being deep inside
Timid and detached
The emotional being inside me,
Would you?
If you knew me for just me
The being deep inside
Insensitive and reticent
The unwitting being inside me
Would you?
If you knew me for just me
The being deep inside me
Impassive and plain
The opposite of the outward me
Would you still accept me?
Would you?

I’m an unwitting symbol of fear
just on Halloween night every year.
I’m a pet, someone’s lovely black cat--
not a goblin, a ghoul, or a bat!
three anapests per line

If I must run for my life, I’m a dead duck
These old worn-out hips will give out quick
Time came when my arthritis was undeniable
When I walk now, I hear my knees click.
I’m thinking I should consider replacements
Those newfangled techniques are superb,
I saw an old lady with brand new hip joints
Kick an unwitting purse snatcher to the curb.

Light Verse
Look,
listen,
learn.
What’s going
on?
Writhing
existence.
Organic world
mixing
coalescing
on all
levels.
Civilization,
humanity,
genetic confusion.
The experiment
turned on.
Seer watching
no interference
but wondering.
We but
unwitting
participants.
Endgame
Unknown.
Writhing,
coalescing
genetic blob
growing,
expanding,
to where?
Undetermined!
Seer observing.
Nothing more.
