		I am in the dark,
		unspilled light,
		uninspected.

THE  OTHER  GOD

It is a rare noise I hear. 
Those sounds that seem to say:

I could be a pond; or
Have been a reflection.

Knees that are forever bent 
Into a prayer of all things.

I am in each thing.
The aspect shown,

The one that is most needed.
The slope of spring untended,

While walking toward an answer;
always visiting myself in stranger’s clothes.

I don’t think anyone imagines 
quite enough these days 

To meet 
Their other God....

Kindling
building upon the edge
of the fortress,

--slights—
		real and imagined,

--daggers—
		slashing scars
			stabbing wounds

--Cupid’s arrows—
		piercing a heart
				
repelled
	in stony silence

--Anger’s tinder—
		aching 
			for immolation

--a lone spark—
		igniting
			the brittle detritus

A Perfect Storm
		raging
			against the confines

of its life.
