Notes About The Poem

The Other God

THE OTHER GOD

It is a rare noise I hear.
Those sounds that seem to say:

I could be a pond; or
Have been a reflection.

Knees that are forever bent
Into a prayer of all things.

I am in each thing.
The aspect shown,

The one that is most needed.
The slope of spring untended,

While walking toward an answer;
always visiting myself in stranger’s clothes.

I don’t think anyone imagines
quite enough these days

To meet
Their other God.

To think we are created in God’s image. My hope is that I can reflect well on Him.

Thank you so much Caren. I am new to Soup and am just getting my bearings. Have read several of your entries and am astonished at how visually direct they are. Sometimes I chew my food way too much. My nickname is Mikey.
