Barren She Was

Her bones were
desolate, cold, unfruitful

Her body was
unproductive, despicable, empty,
isolated, untended, unloved, barren

She stood alone under generations of highly motivated producers
Watiting for a moment that never arrived.
Chosen in no way by no one.

We knew a lady once - in fact my mom did. -she couldn't stop criticizing children and saying that she never wanted children, which was a lie, we later found out she was barren and could never have had a child. A lovely poem Caren, Blessings and hugs, Jennifer.

Thank you Jennifer. We have the same sad woman in my own family who pretended to despise who she could not have.

so many choose the path of career and neglect the path of love, then one day they find they long for what they didn't have, very well written, thank you for sharing, hope all is well, hug

Hopefully such a soul would find another fruitful opportunity however well written. Back in the day labeled old maid, unbarren, such a woman was shamed by many.
