Conflagration - a Perfect Storm

Conflagration

Kindling
building upon the edge
of the fortress,

--slights—
		real and imagined,

--daggers—
		slashing scars
			stabbing wounds
					untended

--Cupid’s arrows—
		piercing a heart

repelled
	in stony silence

--Anger’s tinder—
		aching
			for immolation

--a lone spark—
		igniting
			the brittle detritus

A Perfect Storm
		raging
			against the confines

of its life.

A perfect poem John! The fires in California have really done such damage and Oregon too burning aged trees as well. Such is the way of the world. Excellent! : )
