Unsettled

leaf birls in floe winds
trees harvest flaming dry fire
earth’s robe a suite of patterns

Settle

all traces of saving grace
faded away
i am on my knees
on cold wet cement
but then i saw your face
i looked into your left and right eye
only to die for the hundredth time

unsettled.

Trump Mettled With Mind

Trump Mettled With Mind

Trump with minute minds often mettled,
Of all his supporters  who are unsettled;
Ignorance lob
Like doorknob;
Over cliff his bike should have pedalled.

Immigrants Abducted and Corrupted

Immigrants Abducted and Corrupted

After all of them are already abducted,
Could be that they ended up corrupted;
Then mettled,
And unsettled;
Much more bad behavior had erupted.

The Journey

So unsettled so much turbulence
Dark clouds fly across the skies
The boat rocks from side to side
The solo occupant grabbing for life

now sailing on into calmer seas
Skies blue and sun shines bright

Presence

deep down in the sea
…in the mist of a dark
surrounded by sharks
…Up in the sky
garbed by the cold
…my soul floated with the wind
unsettled on clouds
…beauty of your presence,
brought peace into my heart.

A Sky Cries

no sun can rise
when a lonely sky cries
this road’s collecting leaves
like mind collects dreams

i hear the echoes
of tires skimming puddles
as i slide in thoughts of you

unsettled
in october’s rain

Second Guessing

This word or that word,
the length of the line

The meter, the rhythm,
to rhyme or not rhyme

Each voice comes unsettled,
new phrases diverse

Is it this way or that way
—when penning the verse

Their Gift

Speaking with one voice
  the silence unsettled
As the many inside me
  cry out to be heard

Laced within my words
  never fluent themselves
Woven in my acceptance
  —their gift to inspire

Unsettled Autumn

Autumn has begun unsettled
That season with fickled weather
Not it alone three others meddled
In it though I find great pleasure
Coolness turning of autumn leaves
Fancy ballgowns for deciduous trees

Just for fun!

Envy Is a Curse

Envy is a curse,
with the darkest shadow

All yearning left unsettled
—in a greenish cast

Jealousy its evil twin,
beyond veracity’s purview

Coveting the stolen torches
—of all darkness past

It Fell Into a Crack

Uhoh, it fell into a crack,
and now, by God, I want it back.
Alas, my poor unsettled brain
is going to go barking insane.

Oh Lord, why hasn't heaven sent
the necessary implement
to get this missing morsel free?
Crevice you are the end of me.

Smoke

Smoke Swirling, opaque puffs Aimlessly adrift, Float the predawn zephyrs. Unsettled, this brushwood vagabond, Looking slightly disoriented As it seeks it's place to belong, Or is expected to go. It's existence, only, Until disappearance.

Visions

Visions aimlessly wandering about
teasing my unsettled mind
unexplained ideas
helpless am I
yet I am hopeful

Chilling and thrilling to touch
let me be
let me see
these electrifying eyes
how they burn
how I yearn
for the unknown

Icy

Icy northwesterly winds whip
Like a buggy whip cracks,
Hurrying the horses along
Dragging winter on its back.

Green leaves battered to the brown earth
Instant early death befalls.
Tender young fruit most likely gone
Spring unsettled appalls.

Unfinished

Uncertain

Watch those who change around you, for their climate is unsettled
The cool breeze of yesterday becomes the humidity of today
Unstabled weather, impossible to predict
Seasons who disregard their alias
Man is merely a leaf,
Woman, a rare fruit
Inconsistent, yet consistent

My Heart's Little Ditty

If ever there were a winner here
It would be Me, Myself, and I
The one you have so chosen
To hold beside you under nighttime sky
While owls hoot a lullaby
And my heart cries out a little ditty
Goodbye says my heart
To the fear, the
Loneliness,
The unrest, so unsettled in my soul

Bring On Spring

I am cold to my bones
The winter this year unsettled me
Freezing snow went on too long
Aging stiff thoughts
Overpowered my normal optimism
I dream of buds bursting with life
I dream of swallows making their journey
I anticipate the energy of spring
These thoughts warm me.

I Come

I come
With gifts
To sooth
Your
Unsettled heart
Read aloud
Read quiet
Read within
Your mind
And take
Just one step
With me
Upon my path
Even if its
Just for
A short while
Let me
Hold your hand
Put one’s arm
Around your shoulder
As in the end
It will all be
OK

Tumbleweed

my mind drifts...a tumbleweed in the wind
blowing across open desert
bouncing over past thoughts
briefly lingering in prickly places
unsettled dreams with thorny consequence
aimless is the trail it wonders
spiny twigs left as memories fail
a trail of broken remembrances in hot sand

Your Smile Lingers

warm feel of the embrace
withering leaves
time stops
hangs like a spider
celebration of life

intoxicating lips
wander in the dark valley
scents the lanes of the mind
a long sojourn
wonder like a child
floating on thin air
unsettled memory waning
your smile lingers
