in restive need of sterile quarry,
lithe star spangled limbs
span the velvet heavens,
silver huntress Diana
unbends slender crescent arms,
looses the gleaming arrow,
unknowing, unerring, the missile
flies to the mark,
unflinching, the prey falters
in fatal ecstasy,
finite pleasure 
alloyed with infinite pain....

How straight the path I could enforce,
and straight the thought I might have course,
or straight quantities faked remorse,
then straight the entrance without force!

Yet straight the buckling of divorce,
still straight the line between two ports,
or straight the railing on the porch
but straight the shot ~ I can't endorse!

is semi laden with export,

Arriving  without  fanfare  in my life
With eyes that see through my soul
Like lights in a fog
Showing me the way
Which I lost a lifetime ago?

And why is she here –
This strange other half
Of my lost life
Returned from the fog
Looking for nothing
But finding everything?

And how does she know –
The secret ways of my soul
Which are unknown to  me
And long-forgotten in the fog,
