If you think ants are busy, you should seek
Barry the beaver living down by Chesapeake
Gnawing down trees with every tooth in his head
Barry works twenty-four seven and will ‘til he’s dead.

Twenty Four Seven

Your smile captivates my soul

Your eyes make me melt inside

Your smell takes me back to

The very first time we made love

This is what gets me through the day

I would have it no other way

You take my breath away

Premium Member Now Departing, Soon Arriving

Winter's arrival signals my departure
hidden by soft snow in the ground
When Spring returns, I emerge from hard mud
on sidewalks and in plush flowerbeds

I'd love to warm myself, to lay in the sun
  but I'm on the look-out twenty-four/seven
for a worm's sworn enemy, the dreaded bird
Discretion, please: Shh! ~ Don't breathe a word

Even if it bothers ya
to think about it..

The only person
you're guaranteed to live with

Passage of Time

C-ontinuous flow of time
R-emains the same as before;
I-t runs twenty-four-seven,
N-ot minding moments
G-alore.

M-ovement of time is nonstop,
A-s it's shown fifth of January;
C-easeless cadence and motion
A-re unnoticed when one is busy.
L-yrics written in acrostic
O-ffer a beautiful rhyme;
L-ovely lines are a reflection
O-n the passage of
T-ime.

Premium Member We Do Not Need to Lock our Doors

We have no surveillance tapes
No ring doorbell to capture strangers or friends
Our house could be unlocked day, night and on weekends
Our dogs like the inside door open
So, they can look out the glass door on the outside
Our dog doors are open twenty-four seven
So, critters can get in if they need to
They do not stay long
Our dogs are the size of ponies
Which is also why we never have to lock our doors

Premium Member Write Anything

Write humor, sing of joy!
Sing of the beauty of rabbits
and toys.
Shout from the rooftops about
the of the beauty of winds
and the trees.
Weep over loss and heartaches
or sting of bumblebees!
Of courage or perhaps a little girl's
skinned knees.

Just sit at the computer,
twenty four seven, no sleep shall
you take.
One day, suddenly, you are in poetry heaven.
Gratefully, wide awake!

Premium Member A fly on the wall

A fly on the wall sees nothing at all
apart from the dung on which it will crawl.
But people will say I wish I were so,
then they could know what others don’t know.
Stare at the grifters, the losers, the cheats
while sitting quite still and sucking some sweets.
For life on a wall that is not your own
is palpably simple, when mud’s to be thrown.
But now we’re ALL flies caught in the wide web,
watch twenty-four seven our chosen celeb.

The Speed the Need

Around and round and round the clock,
Twenty four seven,
Never will we close our eyes,
Until we go to heaven.

Time,
Time is what,
We're not taking slow,
So if you think you'll lose the plot,
Out the door you go.

On this road,
We're sure to face,
An obstical or two,
If they succeed to slow the pace,
Well you know what to do.

After all,
We're all only here,
Once in our life,
So dont hold back,
Or be bound by fear,
And roll those f**kin dice...

Greatest Love Isn'T Blind

S-ome say love is blind,
H-aving not seen defect;
E-ven if there are faults,
E-verything it views is perfect.
N-othing compares though to the Lord's greatest love;
A-s far as God is concerned, it watches all from above.

E-yes of the greatest love
C-learly gaze at reality;
O-pen twenty-four-seven,
B-ringing curse to enemy.
I-n thirteenth October morn
S-alvation one can find;
A-lmighty Father is just,
G-reatest love isn't blind.

Premium Member Girl Reporter

I jumped on a bullfrog’s back.
He screamed, startled.
I calmed him down.
Then we started talking.

Coffee, lunch, no suppers.
He is my guy now.
But I had to take things slowly
And pretend I was subtle.

Sedate little me, bullfrog’s girl.
Façade in place twenty-four seven,
So I can get his side of the story
On the Lily Pad murders.

What I wouldn’t do for a story,
I have not discovered yet.

Good night, fans. Shh.

Handfuls of Empty Hands

I have written thousands of poems,
I have poured out my inner thoughts.
I have given the world my gift of writing,
And I have written down a lot.

I have no time to dwell on one piece,
For it will prevent my next.
Sometimes I even surprise myself,
And do things I wouldn’t expect.

I write and deliver series of poems,
Though many are sad, I’m a happy man.
But as I work twenty-four seven at this,
I have earned handfuls of empty hands.

Womb

Lying comfy within the womb Listening to the soft lullaby Of mothers heartbeat Your own private space Why would anyone want To leave this place? A picture of serenity Nature at her very best Food and drink on tap Twenty-Four, seven Why would anyone want To leave this heaven? Been there almost nine months Time to leave soon Get ready for the big entrance Into the real world Do not worry, do not fear People who love you Are waiting here

Empty the prisons
let felons roam free
get rid of the police
disarm the peeps
catastrophic experiments
at the expense of citizens
crime sky high
 riots are America's new pastime
the great purge has begun, folks
twenty-four -seven-three sixty-five-

Heaven has to hire more security
Saint Peter's gate has become unruly
angels are twitchy, armed to the wing
the seamstresses are growing fatigued
they're quickly running out of string
heaven's prisons are quickly filling up
