Joe Donic

There once was a thin man named Joe Donic.
Who all people believed was a comic.
He developed a drink,
made a million we think,
by selling us his brown snake oil tonic.

Not For Nothing

Johnny eats pasta under soft light
He was a prize fighter with a pregnant wife
Always buys his hair tonic from the same guy
His mudda was his hero
His fadda beat him wise

Perfect Man

His skin tone
His stares
And how he walks
With confidence
His body so serious
Smooth just like silk
A tonic for the eyes
Like a beautiful flower
Everyone in appreciation.

My Lovely Piano

Playing the piano is like a tonic for my soul.
It soothes my heart, and fills a spacious hole.
Mozart is so beautiful, it is my favorite.
But when I play the heavenly hymns, I savor it.

Lim'Ric Flats Collaboraton Limerick

oh the limerick it ain’t quite a sonnet
and the learned, they look down upon it
for they cannot grasp
its head or its ass
nor the cleansing effect of its tonic

Trump Health Checkup Periodic

Trump Health Checkup Periodic

Trump health checkup became periodic,
And are sure and certain he is psychotic;
Is always afraid,
Of queen a spade;
Started a new drink called Trump tonic.

Tinas Tonic

Enticingly juicy
Melting on the burning
Lips of passion
Stretching tongues to lick
But soured drops long left over
Icings of deadly venoms
Ooh greedy zealots
Gulping to stupor
Concoctions for all such gluttons

Body Wise

Vitamin D for you for me
Sunlight and air; both still free
Quinine in tonic water clear
Filters blood in hearts so dear
To exercise in many ways
Four good steps to enrich your days.

The Price

These words I write may not be worth much to you
perhaps a glass of prosecco or cheap chardonnay
bottom shelf bourbon and soda, tonic and Tanqueray
You have no concept of what they cost me
the price that I must pay

Whine On Mogen David Wine

Mom used to drink this wine for a tonic,
I had no idea she meant a colonic.
So I snuck some of this swill,
moved more than an EX LAX pill
cause the gas sounds were quite polyphonic!

Soothing The Savage Beast

What creates a mood
better than music
A tonic to fill
the empty spaces
 and writer’s block

What transports the words
better than music
As Elton, Paul
and Cole have shown
— its gift to reign supreme

Ah Me Heart Eased

a sept-tonic...to wake up...

woke early...this morning with...
a question in mind about...
time travel...fuel...exhaust...

input...output...be time change...
different pasts or futures...
mean 'bodies'...remain behind...

Another Gin and Tonic Horn Limerick

Another Gin and Tonic Horn Limerick

Must I drink another gin and tonic
To tolerate Trump who is moronic
Jumping from hole to hole like a rabbit
Constantly complaining when cannot have it
Grows on you like a plague that is bubonic.

My Reasons

Your life gave me the reasons
To wake up in the cold
Your talking sounds like music
And stops me getting old
Your smiles warm as sunshine
The tonic for my soul

Your crying draws me to you
Your pain my biggest fear
Because you know I'm your Daddy
I wash away you tears

Materials and Chemicals

A tonic that I inhale,
Can save me from this endless day,
but I have a dream
that one day I will live without useless things,
be free from all materials keeping me down,
and I will be like a tree content within the forest,
happy and free where I choose to slumber.

New Year's Eve

On New Year's Eve ordered take out
Pick up food dine inside the home
Enjoy a Gin with Tonic to celebrate
Enjoy my drink with my ordered meal

Then after the meal I would relax
Maybe read a book or create poetry
This was a quiet New Year's Eve
Then go to dreamland usual time.

Forgiveness

Forgiveness is a tonic

A most powerful potion

It goes down ever so smoothly

It tickles my tummy

A surprise in the middle of a turbulent hot day

The cure for what ails my scorched heart

Forgiveness goes down the hatchet and just hits the spot!

Frustrated

The bird chirping
My foot hurting
I heard a noise
Wish I had poise

Frustrations chronic
Will need some tonic
The internet goes haywire
Nervous led to perspire

Wishing for peace
Sending a gift to my niece
Praying for calm
Envisioning a palm

Wisdom so elusive
No excuses

Nature's Tonic

The breeze, dank with autumnal chill
Sighs through the lonesome woodland trail
Yet whispers of sweet promise
Waft gently through the bracing air

Earthlings

Earthlings are both brilliant and moronic,
drinking from a glass a potent tonic.
Devil-angel with free will,
climbing up a self made hill.

Shackled by our rancor throughout history,
the love of saints and gurus set us free.
Made of water dirt and air,
Earth is bound by earnest prayer.

Somebody Stole My Caster-Oil

Can you imagine that??
What kind of rat...??
Would steal my tonic....
Maybe they're bionic....
Cause no sane one I know,
Would want to take,
As disgusting a thing,
Unless they felt they were a king,
And needed to so torture,
Some rebellious subject,
And this was their best scorcher...
