Seeds
Even johny apple seed,
planted a few weeds.

Words, like seeds.
Taken personally
grow.
Tend your garden
Dear freind,
so the bad
ones don't
sow....

Heart Unbound
Wedded to a grownup dream,
betrothed to whom I sleep
My lover laced in shades of gray,
her shadow most discreet
Vows of heartache lost in time,
one chance to pledge again
to tend her garden—heart unbound,
and till her love unstemmed
(Dreamsleep: April, 2022)...

August
August, comes to Canada with lovely cool nights,
Until the end of summer our days will be hot delights;
Getting ready for the cold is far, far, far away,
Until August is over my beautiful flowers will fill my days.
Sweetest kitty in the world loves laying in the August sun,
Together we tend the garden- I water and kitty digs for fun !...

The Real State Real Estate
When your only home is your body
a home that took a lifetime to build
with your own blood your mortar
bound with your own bruises brick by brick
when you are cut and measured by your parents
but still find a piece of fertile land
on which to build your home and tend a garden
with the sweat and tears of friends
to have the state tear up your deed
and evict you like you never lived

Spring Senryu
Spring Senryu
as the sun slumbers
unseen hands tend night’s garden
fireflies applaud
pollinating roses
red faced – caught in the act
a thorny dilemma
the dandelion
spring’s forever WTF
roots of anarchy
nothing but net
the mosquito goalie quit
buzz – buzz- slap – ouch
the great blue heron
mocks the wetlands trees
standing on one leg

Mother Gaia
Mother Gaia, how beautifully you tend your garden of souls.
Uplifted and refreshed by your green plants and your earthiness.
I lie down in your soil and breathe in your fragrance for hours.
Other gardeners understand.
We lie in our beds, watching your magic arise from the ground.
Tiny green sprouts of marigolds, carrots, corn, peas, and radishes.
How excited and confident you help us to feel.
Mother Gaia, how beautifully you tend your garden of souls!...

Beneath a Brilliant Sun
I will be a faithful gardener,
beneath a brilliant sun.
My garden will be unique,
spreading beauty and joy to everyone.
I'll scatter seeds of positivity.
Encourage delicate foliage to grow.
Strong roots will be anchors, flexible stems
unbroken, although the wind blows.
I will tend my garden, with kindness,
patiently wait for next years bloom.
Every color of the rainbow is present.
In my nurtured garden, there is ample room.

My Garden
My garden doesn’t grow here anymore,
geraniums in a box on my porch floor.
I’d like to have a lovely garden yard
but with my arthritis that’s too hard.
So, I must settle for geraniums,
and in the fall be satisfied with mums.
I tend a garden of a different kind,
the one that generates inside my mind
and with good thoughts the gentle flowers grow
making happiness I've come to know.
