While sitting near the rivers edge
Enveloped in another tale
Caught off guard by raw beauty
Setting my pen off to set sail
As the sun glistens off the river
My reflection distorted above
Surrounded by natures jewels
Enchanted by what I love

Upon a landscape snowy and bright
Sun glistens in flakes along their flight
Down into a home they've never known
Guided by a resilience they've always shown
A deer bounds close and seems to hear
As my footsteps near
Briefly, it turns to look
Majestic as though from a book
All around, life sings its familiar song
Suddenly, I realizs what's been wrong
In the quest for our money
We have disrupted nature's harmony
