Premium Member A National Vibe

A country needs a culture
    a recognizable national vibe

  Without one what you've got
is a bunch of squabbling tribes

Mccain Avoids Picayune

McCain Avoids Picayune

Picayune is squabbling of party politicians.

Part of politics McCain avoids are picayune,
And we know in heaven will be pretty soon;
Hard try;
Great guy;
Trump stayed here loony like a lousy loon.

Choice

We suitors were idiots squabbling in line
till mademoiselle informed us of her choice.
Intoxicating, her bouquet divine,
like the vintage of a rich full-bodied wine.
Fearful she would not hearken to my voice,
overjoyed when she consented to be mine!

Mother
As ancient time is not anxious
Of humanities youthful squabbling
You permitted my discourse
Allowing for the conclusion
(Mothers are wonderful in that way)
all the while operating
under the assumption
that serpents molt and
trees shed leaves to grow

Enemy's Enemy

ENEMY’S ENEMY

Pigeons squabbling with a few crows
Over a handful of crumbs
Neighbour’s cat dashed across
To a possible pigeon lunch
Timorous pigeons flew
Crows attacked cat
Drove him away
Pigeons and bullying crows
Squabbling over a handful of crumbs

Astride

Finger grips make her relent,
Mimic the long seduction,
Hard edges quake make her tremble,
Softening the walls to pulse;

Succumbs to the moments joy,
Fused to her passionate mate,
Quivers in pure surrender,
The ride surges to climax.

Fragile animal instincts;
Tamed by his squabbling strides.

Wishin' and Hopin' (And Thinkin' and Prayin'!)

Premium Member Secret to Success

The secret to success is to simply stop.

Stop seeking attention.
Stop arguing with those who gossip.
Stop listening to lies.
Stop squabbling for your rights with stupid people.
Stop searching for the negative in...anything.
Stop fighting small fights.
Stop sweating the small stuff.

Just. Simply. Stop.

Tangerine Morning

Frost carpets the fields
sloping to a crinkled sea.
The air,
cotton crisp
as spring leaps in.

Satin crows
descend from a silver sky.
Squabbling, they graze
on chilled dewdrops.

The sunrise,
a red ribbon glow
warms tall tree trunks
basking in gliding sunlight.

A flame horizon
burns a candy stripe sky
on a tangerine morning.

Leaving

Left at 9am,
hit the rush hour
crawled a few miles
then warp speed to
40 mph.

Pick up some gas station coffee.
Reaching into glove box
spill said coffee over pants.
Made the freeway
pissed off and squabbling,
10 miles on
still bickering.

It's our vacation
the trunks packed solid,

and we will fight tooth and nail

to be carefree and happy
very soon.

Brown, white, black and yellow?
Human being mellow:
Why live untruths shallow?

You versus us and we?
Fighting with self-pity:
Why all this cruelty?

Race all over the place?
Squabbling over mad space:
Why just for your proud face?

Hatred breeds more terror?
Fear breeds greedy horror:
Why indulge more terror?

Premium Member No one Wants to Clean Uncles Garage

Uncle’s garage was full of junk that made us shout.
My nephews fought over who had to clean it out.
I’ll do it, his industrious grandniece said, don’t pout!
She found a mint 1934 Packard 12 worth money no doubt.

Now the squabbling and screaming was about to begin.
I think he left everything to me said his nephew Fin.
You signed it over to me, reminded his sister, Gwen.
Because of all her hard work, she was the one to get the win.

Equinox

The equinox is days away,
the only day that's equal,
both night and day-
get a say.

It's social anarchism-
on a universal scale.
perpetuated by a mysterious veil,
that society ignores completely.

- I found it comical when I thought about how the universe has two days dedicated to
appeasing both day and night and equalizing the seasons, when most humans can't stop
squabbling over money for an hour.

Here's praying for humanity's equinox....whenever that may happen or if...
