Unwavering Value
Even the tiniest speckle of dust
cannot conceal the clout-
of the golden surface it rests on.

So like that golden throne,
Don’t let the tiniest of problems
Conceal your true identity....

Premium Member A Morning Star
After the first frost,
Twinkled lights in the gloom
Emerge like a mirage-
Images,red then white
Speckle the winter night
And fill the cobalt sky-
And in my heart-a light
To fill the darkest place-
A perpetual morning star...

Little Butterfly
Delicate as silken lace
Floating with elegant grace
Upon the gentle breeze
Soaring with seeming ease
Golden speckle amidst black
Aqua stripes down your back
Beauty of color splayed wings
Simple joy watching brings
Delighting the human eye
As you flitter and flutter by...

A Patch of Blue

When raindrops speckle sidewalks and make the puddles gaily dance;
When highways glisten with freckles of sunshine and umbrellas dot the gloom;
When trees bow down to storm winds and rainbows dance on roofs
I embrace the earth so clean and walk beneath a patch of blue....

Inspired By An Ancient Poem
Under peaks cloaked in clouds, I climbed,
along gnarled woods and deserted tracks.

Are those temple chimes
   Coming from an ancient shrine?
Echoes of water rippling over rocky crags.

Sunrays speckle cool pines.
Where thin mist veils a deserted pond
I rest, and my spirit is sublime....

Winter Crest
The flying winter-end moves ambivalently
Scoffing with whitened celebration
And thrashing through adoration
While nippy Jack Frost chuckles underhandedly

Into the evening joyful delight
The spring time moon, sings in speckle red
Life moves triumphantly in joyful wed
And stillness beats the night...

Deckle Library In Charleston
Deckle Library In Charleston

Charleston has a library they call Deckle;
When going will wear our each spectacle;
Meeting lead;
A poem read;
Out of us should never make a spectacle.

Jim Horn

PS. We ended up trying to find a speckle
of a freckle and we ended up having to
spend our last shekel which ended up
being quite a spectacular spectacle....

Premium Member Moon Whispers
The moon whispers upon its crest
the night is somber and finally rest
I watch the stars speckle the sky
and count them till my eyes are dry.
The wind calms the creature's sleep
 cool, wild, and endlessly deep
Could a night like this exist
without the moon's glow and kiss.
Awed in silence, here I am
 lucidly dreaming in R.E.M

Premium Member Bless Each Palo Verde Bloom -
Bless each palo verde bloom –
Those cuplets kissed by the sun
My vision wants to consume
That thus have raptured my love.

See how they speckle the tree
With a burst of yellow bright
And upon the branches flit
By the wind that blows nigh –

Leading me not to consider
   The force behind nor why
But to admire how they arch
   In reverence to the sky....

Thunder Birds
My breath is stolen away by the flight of your wings,
The heights I will never reach while I roam this earth.
My fears but a speckle of dust,
My barriers a mist, against the freedom of your silver force.
Zigzagging beyond the gravity's rules
What goes through your mind while your heart's astray?
Small like an ant, as a I gaze above,
We will meet in the very same clouds some day....

Digest Your Fear Regurgitate Hope
Faith is like a shattered glass
While we all stand down
wondering how it happened
Counting the seconds it shattered into shards
Daring not to touch or to only step on tip-toes
Crowding around the mess in awe
Painstakingly one touch...
With a speckle of blood
While we all stand down and stare
Daring to pick up the pieces
Glue them back together
And act as if it never were broken
Isn't it a mess
Dealing with faith?...

in love with a ghost
Can you really love someone you can’t see?
A brush of wind that flows throughout your hair.
Can you really see something that’s not there?
The fiddle of the strings hanging off an old shirt.
Can you really love without getting hurt?
The sounds of music that drifts through the breeze.
The speckle of light that sits on the seas.
Do you really think of me as more than a host?
So, I hate to admit, I think I’m in love with a ghost…

Chels
Soft as the nights darkness
The speckle in your eye
Those pretty blues
Who wouldn’t choose

Flaxen hair in the air
A beauty that shimmers in the sun
Skin illuminated by the light
So pure and bright

Love filled with such promise
A promise for life
Here today and tomorrow
Forever together
Hitched at the soul

Love combined with such greatness
Souls intertwined as one
A compatibility matched to none
She is the one

Premium Member In the Cool of the Morning
In the cool of the early morning
when the sun just begins to rise
Mystical layers suddenly appear.
Of soft, serene gray colored dew
with speckles of blue
Flowing gently like a sparkling river
Of colorful crystals
that twinkles against the lush green
and dark undertones of tall blades
of overgrown grasses
dripping drops of splashing dew
that supernaturally, magically turns
into soft serene gray colored crystals
with a speckle of blue....

There Is No Shadow To the Sun
There is no shadow to the Sun
nor boundary to his abundant rays
he doesn't know a moment's peace
neither the meaning of a "root."

Wherever he tries to cast a shadow
each time his light will be there first
By Jove, indeed, a high price to pay
for wishing to see everything.

Inspecting all, all will be there to see you
no piece of you a secret and your whole is bare
without even a speckle of the shadow of an ant
for your soul to find rest and refuge there....

A Poet Destroyed
I burn in a fiery blaze of disappointment for a poor judge to see .
Swallowed by hungry tears. Shallow tears eat my cheek.
The salty substance, similar to the oceans of life.
Washed away and swept off my feet.
I am a tiny speckle left of a winning dream.
Destroyed by a poets losing dream .
 A poet destroyer.
The ocean of life washing away my short winded words,
along with my poorly judged tears in this oceans lair.
Knoked by a rock, out of my rhyming socks.A poet destroyed....
