A Math Whiz! A veritable Einstein!
Quarky and quirky, a tangent his Shrine
   He never combed his hair
   His sockless feet were bare
Experts wondered: Would this guy's stars align?...

Lost Socks
In the land of laundry, a mystery ensues,
Socks scatter and vanish, leaving just one shoe.
Pairs go on adventures, to realms far and wide,
Escaping the dryer, where they used to reside.

Dancing with bunnies or hiding in a shoe tree,
These mischievous socks, oh where can they be?
But fear not, dear sockless ones, for time yet unlocks,
The magical story of all the lost socks....

Medea [for Passolini]
...was it media[medea]-said solitude is dangerous breeds devils in the night-breeds devils
in the day too!
a wave just cracked over my rarely exposed sockless foot
and made me realise
how important it was to be in it
to be wet-
however ‘little wet’ you may be-

To break free of hibernating.

And as I strolled the sunny streets,
Sans socks but thus adorned,
I thought of my beloved boots,
Now seasonally scorned.

I’ll wear them once again this fall
With socks, I guarantee,
But now I’m just delighted
To be bare beneath the knee!...

Heat Wave
Flew home to a heat wave
Though it’s not supposed to last.
The temps down south in Florida
We’ve already surpassed.

I’m usually not sockless
And in shorts the third of May,
But that’s just how I traveled
To my New York home today.

This morning down near Tampa
It was sixty-five degrees
When we took an early walk to town
With quite a lovely breeze.

It’s a topsy-turvy world we’re in
Yet what I find most strange
Are the people who insist that there
Has been no climate change!...
