Drunken Prostitute's Fee
That is what you FEEL
Get the “L” out of there
And give me the rest
Said she

With a gaping purse
By the sea
With the “L” after SEA
She sobered to bank

Was it the worth?
Said he, Sober.

Ponder!...

Wish It Was You--Unf.
Wish it was you who sent me flowers to remind me that i'm special
wish it was you who called just to say "I Love You"
wish it was you keepin' me company til I sobered from that drunken wine
wish it was you that were mine....

MOONSHINER'S DITTY - Collaboration

Gonna drink moonshine
Get drunk as a skunk
Then go into town
Beat up on some punk

Get thrown in jail
'Til I get sobered up
Start drinking again
Then puke it all up

For Charles Messina's contest

Back Then It Was All About Who Got Drunk Last
One of my early girlfriends started to be fun
after she stopped drinking and I started.

Later I sobered up,
but it was never the same;
eventually we lift on different trains
with different kinds of hangovers.

We were two ships in different bottles,
just learning to sail alone
and not sink....

Premium Member When Young
When young,

Intoxicated my soul seemed to be

As she was drinking constantly from youth's

Fine wine

But

Now that I old came to be

My sobered soul is wiser, thus yearning, only

To delight herself, with what is: just, holy, and

Divine!

Premium Member Grim Reaper Waits
He lurked in the corner of the shadows below
Waiting patiently for his victim, a guy who moved quite slow
Jim had a feeling, so he dragged his feet a bit
When the Grim Reaper grabbed him, he threw a tiny fit

You know it’s your time, the Grim Reaper said to him.
His voice was serious, which sobered the guy named Jim.
He pleaded, could have another week or two?
The Grim Reaper said “no, I have come to claim you.”...

Your Love Ever So Inviting
your love opens to me
like a mother to embrace her infant son
and yet i can't partake in this high
that keeps me going

i have sobered through my addiction to you
i shook in my bed, convulsing, tears streaming down my face
near the point of death only to be brought lower than before
your love has never faultered
wavered
or denied me in any way
and yet i find
that it is hard to accept that i can't live without you...

April and Everything After
hello little school girl
how do you do
travis says he loves you
think I could love you too
you look very healthy
all sobered up
maybe you need an older man
in your troubled life

you and your firm legs
and everything above
but I wonder and I wonder
can perversion go on like this
I wish and I pray
that you were closer to twenty-six

but for now
this will have to do
maybe I can get my chance
with Pocahontas, me and you...

New Year - New Me
Last year she belonged to you
Giving her all
For you to breakthrough.
Chimes at twelve
Fireworks exploding
Yet no Good-will came from your boding.
She picked up her heart that
Dragged on the floor
Dusted it off
Deciding she was worth more.
Resoluting to be the very best
That only she can,
She stopped her influence
Sobered again.
Then she was free from things
That bound her
Became a fresh experience
Happy, joyous and free!...

Forgive
I saw you the other day we didnt speak
Thinking to myself how did we become this way
And remembered the times we had
Our first kiss I remember
I was drunk but I sobered up
Realizing I was feeling outta place
I looked at you
Though it took me a minute to see
Your the only one I want
I only wanna make it good
For both me and you
So please forgive
If I pull away from you
It's a defense mechanism
I know not of what I do
Please forgive me if I want you like I do...

Suicide of Books
For long bookcase-bound,
Some books committed suicide.
‘Few readers were found’,
The suicide note had decried,
Sobered, the rest of books cried.

The shock of the news
Caused many in library
Feel a stiffened noose,
Some of them on poetry
Thought of mass hara-kiri!
