Read the Signs
The cloven hoof prints
Should have been read 
Way before I signed
My contract with the dead.

My lawyer did not see
And nor did I
The fine printed sign
Of an evil lie.

Alive yet livid
Living in a haze
Of smoky pubs stoking
My booze fueled daze.

Singling out women
Of a tender nature
To take a hell ride
And feed the creature.

I pray I’m asleep
Spring, summer, fall
When the beast makes 
His final withdrawal. 	

I should’a read the signs.
