Nope
When no chance and that's well known,
Do not let hope.. do not let..
Avoiding sharps by fading slow
Do not give any shade of hope,
When there is no hope left.....

Piano Lesson
While my sister performs
we play, Amy and I.

The other room fills
with sharps and flats.
Quietly we laugh and
hope for an extra five.

I can here her talent,
envy and regret.
I do not need my session.

Stale popcorn and dolls
scattered on the green floor.
Eyes on the clock;
the hour has gone by.

The music stops.
Our time does too....

The hands
are quick
to pick
the keys
to play
the tune
"Chop Sticks"
No sharps
or flats
Go left
Go right
Move up
and down
white keys
to pound
to make
the sound
of glee!
The blacks
are bummed
they missed
the fun
to make
a song
so bright!

I gave them my toughness. To let them know.
They were right.
I was so bad, no one could love me.
No one ever had.
And no one ever would.
Well, one had,
So I killed her for it.
Because I could not stand how wrong she was.
Everybody knew I was bad to the bone.
Why hadn’t she gotten that?
My mother had....

Black and White
Black and White

Good, bad
Glad, sad
Moods shown
Through sharps
And flats;
Deep bold
Sounds from
The top
Tier can
Be heard
Both far
And near;
Soft C
Scale sets
At rest
Till pressed
By soft
Light touch;
Black, White
Dark, Light
No hue
In sight,
But in
The mind
That’s blind;
