When I was a child I ate icicles
I broke some teeth.
No biggie.
When I was young I ate peanut brittle.
I ate ribbon candy.
I ate hard rock candy.
I thought I would have teeth forever.
I have a few left.
They are jagged and angry.
I don’t blame them.
wispy afternoon
here our special children drools
on the elderly
~
sucking hard candies
each of them young and old all
salivating yum
~
from out of the purse
of strange little old lady
sweet hard rock candy

Craving cheese Doritos,
Crispy chips and Cheetos.
Caramel apples with
Cashew coating will do!
Cooking some rock candy
Captain Crunch could cherish!
Cancel the celery!
(Just dreaming of my childhood days. Sure can't eat this way any more!)

The apples, scented the kitchen,
Reminding me so much of Eden.
Odd, how we love this fruit!
That stands for ultimate disrepute.
Man's desire to be so dandy,
With souls hard as rock candy.
To topple anyone in our way,
At any cost, leads to my dismay.
Alas, seems our human disposition.
To avoid at all costs being an inspiration.
Just to win in any competition?
Destroying souls handily in a frenzied
human demolition!
