appointment rescheduled and so we wait
there being no cause for agitation
each moment complete in stillness sedate
unendingly renews bliss elation
irrespective of outer circumstance
pristine aliveness our meditation
egoless soul has no self-importance

No more the curse of what is bad,
enduring cause, or so-so sad
I am the circle of the mad,
disciple of implore . . . the Had!
This venture, trusted counterfeit
the soul's combustion ~ make it fit,
alas, alack, the sum of it,
I am rescheduled ~ my work's bit!
Oh labor lost, the onion's pit
has much more flavor ~ keep, not spit
approve, thy own concern with grit,
a self conferring, truth not skit!
No cause demurring can restrict,

Not Quite Ready
Some friends are going on a tour;
Invited us to join.
You’d think it would be easy
To decide - just flip a coin.
We’d meant to take a trip with them
When Covid reared its head.
We got our money back; our friends
Rescheduled instead.
Since then, they’ve started traveling,
For life, of course, is short
And though this tour sounds wonderful,
I am a worrywart.
I’ll mull it over and discuss
But think I’m disinclined,
So once again, our friends will go
And I will stay behind....
