I see 3 little birds
landing softly
on the bird feeder

and it’s hard
not to hear
a gentle reggae lilt
in the background....

Free-wheeling Through Africa
Just climb onto the back of my Harley
And we shall ride to the songs of Bob Marley,
   In no time at all
   We'll be in Senegal,
Though I might stop for lunch in Kigali....

Summer Rhythms
a waterfall flows
from mountainside to ocean -
distant reggae song

clear waters light sky -
where blue meets turquoise vista
a swallowtail hums

Premium Member Good Day
Starting the day to a reggae beat.
Sun is in my face, oh yes!
Wishing I was at an island beach.
My feet are moving, oh yes!
My heart is gone, fully unleashed,
bouncing off the walls, oh yes!
Be ready students, here come the teach!...

    Season your salads
      Spice them up with reggae
    Same goes for entrées
      Mademoiselle gourmet

    Leave your food bland
       It lacks razzmatazz
If you like meals that sparkle
Add a few notes of jazz

reverberating night,
raucous in smoke filled room,
repetitive drum beat,
resonant voice arose,
recapturing lost soul,
rock to wisdom of song,

Twin Bullets
My teenage son proudly wears a Che Guevarra beret

and belts out liberation songs from Bob Marley's reggae,

                                       as he fixes the sink

                                     I hum along and think:

freedom, duty, twin bullets in life's most deadly roulette!...

REGGAE

              Reggae music genre,
         rhythmic cell of eight beats,
            repeated short patterns.
           Represents a movement,
                religious in nature.
             Roots of moral lessons,
                    rich spiritually.

This Is Paradise
Sea tides undulate

Salt saturates wide valleys

Fish leap helplessly

Seagulls laugh at moment’s spare

Desert sand surrounds

Lonely land mass residing

Brim with tourism

Festivals ignite the flame

Native culture dance

Parties prosper all around

Sun enlightens all

Skin tans from ash to brown dust

Reggae music blasts

Life turns to relaxation

This is paradise...

Reggae and Sensi
I free my mind
and let the music
take control of my
ears take my mind
to mystical heights
bumpin my head to
the funky sounds
twist another one
let marley show
you all the love
let the music hit you
for it won't ever hurt
this mellow mood
has got me so burn
one down and feel
the sensi relieve all
the pain now close
your eyes let the
song play...

Love for poetry,
savvy. This identity
loves controversy

Football and women,
conversation, love-making.
R & B, Reggae,
inspired meditation,
Four Tops, The Temptations

Taking vacations,
road trips across this nation..
Next stop, the ocean!!!

Honeymoon Cruise
On a ship so white with skies of blue,
we sailed on seas calm and true.
The music played with a reggae sound,
and everyone danced around.
As the island came into sight,
we both smiled with such delight.
White limestone roofs, royal palms tall,
pink sandy beaches covered it all.
The memories will last a lifetime through,
until we can sail again on the ocean blue.

Notting Hill Carnival
colourful Flags of the Caribbean
Flood Londons streets,
Vibrations from the sound systems
as they play their reggae beats

smells of curry goat,
and barbecued jerk chicken
Fill the the air,
While men and women are whining with feathers in their hair

Everyone’s United
dancing and chanting loudly,
Sipping from cups of homemade sorrel,
displaying their cultures proudly....

Feel Good Music
spreading peace love and unity
from its roots in Jamaica
to each and every community,

the type of music that lifts your spirits
the type of music that makes you want to smile
every time you feel it,

So With the heart of a lion
stay for ever ready,
Ready to move to a beat
so sweet and rock steady,
a beat sending out it’s good vibes
to each and everybody....

Jamaica My Day
Jammed some fun into one day
Aboard kayaks, paddling play
Mangroves, stingless jelly fish
And in my head, a hand itched

In beats, a beach reggae-tunes
Crashing waves upon the dunes
As curling smiles seemed to mock
Monster cruiser at the dock

Yellow sun did set too fast
Dashing night on anchor cast
Awhirl the sea’s brooding deep
Yesterdays pile on the keep

Catching the Sun
Hidden behind the clouds, trying to illuminate my dreary day
Simply a brush with the rays and I'm feeling much better
The closing of my eyes a new day has quickly begun
And again I'm "Catching The Sun"
Such a beautiful day on the way maybe soft rock, reggae, or jazz
I will play, no rain in the forecast, to squeeze past
The autumn of love
I thought she was the only one, who could make me forget
Catching the sun......

When Fire Wants Friends
When fire needs friends
it does not go to homes
the highway and paths it ignores
there friends do live not

Fire will travel to the bush
there a lot of freedom flourishes
plenty of oxygen, food and drink
to fill its stomach it finds

In the bush fire meets friends
broken wood and plastics
poor old leather and hair dregs
fire sings as friends dance

In the bush fire sings and whistles
His friends dance reggae in smoke...

Premium Member If I Was a Little Kettle Drum
If I was a little kettle drum
Daily I would sit on my charming bum,
Never letting you be dour or glum
Playing reggae music for my mum.

I might possibly taste flavored rum.
Pretend to be all kinds of dumb.
I would play music in this slum,
Starting up daily with a little hum.

You might become my favorite chum.
If you play me gently, with your thumb.
Do not mess me up or leave one crumb.
Or I will not be your little kettle drum....

To Bob Marley
You were the heart of us,
Throat of musicians,
King of reggae,
A mad singer,
Created hearts on guitar,
Breathed love on each note,

Cannabis on your lips,
Fragrance's to music,
Weed stain on your lips,
Symbol of ecstasy,
Long curly hairs,
Frills your notes.

you were the 'one love',
Notes were flesh and, meat for us,
To chew and swallow.

you never died,
Dipped yourself ,cell by cell,
In celestial music,
 For angels to dance ....

Micah For Jamaica
On his table of Formica,
A once ardent Christian Micah
Drops reggae from Jamaica;
Newly, Peter Tosh’s great liker
No more Soulless Demons’ Striker:
Paul in Thessalonica…

For ten years in America,
Eyes on the female Hitch hiker,
Mid-course rides turning her liker!
Have you been to Madagascar?
I’d had to and lasted The Scar…”

The First, we’ve heard, shall be The Last:
In his own case, a truth, too fast…

Micah for Marley’s Jamaica....
