Do this, do that
Do just what we say
Work here, work there
All the livelong day
Stand up, stand down
Rest your weary head
Turn left, turn right
Work until you're dead

the red poppy is almost an orange-red
two of my favorite colors, reminding me of bravery
the red -blooded soldiers who are willing to sacrifice everything
a field of these blooms parade about in my mind’s eye
reminding me to be more patriotic not just on special days

The little boy and his flag
On the corner sat a little boy.
The American flag in his hand.
When asked why he was sitting there.
This is what he said," I watch on tv the other night
A man that said he wanted to make America great again.
He said he would make our country safe.
And Americans proud again.
He said this country was his and our flag shall fly high.
I sit here to show him I'm a red blooded American and proud of my flag.

Eyes of darkness,
Caught the prey,
Brutal eagle eyes,
Always hovered her,
She veiled her,
Beneath the tree,
But eyes chased her always.
She hid her,
In shades,
Red-blooded eyes,
Stabbed darkness,
Pulled her out.
She cried, wept,
Withered away,
No one heard weeping heart,
Except brutal ears.
Ferocious nails,
Pierced into flesh.
Tears percolated to mothers (earth’s) womb,
Stains of lost virginity,
Became filthy.
They buried her.

Romantic
Valentino,
nicknamed
Latin Lover.
Red-blooded, silent
movie star.
Starstruck
women swooned.
Legend
collapses. . .
his death caused
mass hysteria.
drop dead gorgeous goodbye.
red
rose smooches grave.

Verse
Red-blooded moon
We drink its honey
It’s out of boon
The nightmare’s coming.
We cannot sail
The gardens faded
Poets will fail
And love is jaded.
The blind chance
leads in the nowhere
The cold changes suns
And all is over.
I took a whip
Oh, poet’s honey!
The muses weep
And it is funny.
They say find peace
And don’t be angry
They’re on their knees
And they are hungry.
Friends left me soon,
Because of money
Red-blooded moon
I drink its honey.

Lyric
Forgive me for feeling the need to say
I am neither a Communist nor a Nazi,
I’m a red-blooded American who served
My country in the U. S. Air Force, and,
I have always stood up for what’s right,
And, when bullied, I am up for the fight.
Divisiveness here is getting out of hand,
And probity is not at all being observed
Even hinting that I am a Nazi is crazy!
Forgive me for feeling the need to say.

Bio
National No-Bra Day
You want to know why
The 9th of July
Is special so the guys say
You see red-blooded guys
Have opened their eyes
For National No-Bra Day
And here’s to the gals
Who improve our morales
By taking this day to heart
May your day be uplifting
With minimal shifting
And compliments off the chart
If this poetry moves you
Then it surely behoves you
To do less would surely be wrong
And it can’t feel much better
To simply unfetter
What you have kept fettered too long
Uncle Mike
