The fire consumes our souls
The wind spreads the fire
The earth catches the sparks
The water destroys the funeral pyre.
Form:
the tips look overdone
there is no more burning smell
a pyre, but what has been here?
No smells or remnants left
Only ashes
Fire swiftly releases and
A soul flies free on its course;
The journey to afterlife,
Needs no vehicles.
rose bloom set afire
flame offense chars love most dire
fray'd woe fuels grief pyre
How strident are their screams, 'Ceasefire!'
~ adding fuel to the funeral pyre ...
Dreams upon the pyre,
oil of Satan’s lamp
Love consumed by fire,
—ashes cold and damp
(Villanova Pennsylvania: February, 2018)
Notre Dame erupted in fire
Ghosts gasped in the funeral pyre
For the Devil's horns
Are the Crown of Thorns
Held fast by an angelic choir
Raise me higher 'til I'm inside Her,
To be exposed and proven a Liar
If ruled a Fool, so then build the Pyre
Record my words then set me on fire!
In the pyre
of desire
In the fire
of passion,
The wine of lust
intoxicated us
with love...
Then we surrender ...!
In the mouth of desire
your words drip fire,
enticing me to the pyre
of a singular quagmire
where you are the supplier
of this drug called love.
Awaiting summer, new romance
When trees aflame sway to dance,
Midnight wakes man's impassioned pyre
To whisk caprice into season's fire

Shegaurd wakes from her coma
afloat in a Viking pyre craft
too far away to be seen by the mourners
she dreads the flaming arrows
hoping the archer’s aim will not be true
She laid her emotions on a pyre.
Took a torch and lit a flame.
A gust of wind kidnapped them,
Taking them into the sky.
Watching as her desires flew away.
A smile hinted in her eyes.
You can’t burn out
if you’re not on fire
Jim roaming wild
pyre to pyre
The only way out
the only way in
Flaming the moment
—death rebegins
(Las Vegas Boulevard: January, 2023)
oh last night
the bed
playful wicked
howls around
inspirational thought
in hostage ground
rising; rising to the sound
the pyre gripes to re-fall crown

Knifes out pointed at us,
Surrounded
Spears out,
To hunt us down,
Build your pyre,
Light the fire,
Screams.
You hold your knife at me,
But I’m not your meal,
You just needed fresh meat.
The flaming pyre
And tortured screams;
Regrets and curses
And broken dreams.
The piles of gold,
With fags* and booze;
The lust and orgies:
So much to choose…

The deep valleys form my attire
Roads on which you easily tire
Hold my burning heart’s warmest fire
My heart, a shallow cry
Raw emotions, a silent pyre
We met, oh why, oh why

Quick like fire
Burning desire
Is a pseudo-sire
Playing a lyre
Breaking a wire
By greased tire
Stepping in mire
Looking at a pyre
It’s all looking dire
Quick like fire
Burning desire
Russell Sivey
Thrust a dagger into my heart
Thresh me with a flail
Lay me on a bed of thorns
Give me a chalice of hemlock
Burn me on a funeral pyre
Banish me to the Sahara...
And I will only smile,
Because I am in love!
Scorching plumes billow upward
Devouring light
Reaches across the heavens
To invite the night
Celestial pyre
Reduced to smoldering coals
Daylight's bold retire

Be-bop, shu-baby-bop,
the blues on fire
The strings an accelerant,
the harp but a pyre
The melody unseen,
its heartbeat within

(The New Room: February, 2024)
Your words are kind, effervescently sweet.
Extending your embrace,
For the comfort others seek.
When I gaze into your eyes,
I experience a sea of fire.
That no one could deny,
Is the quintessence of your passion’s pyre.
