Cluttered fixtures and cluttered egos,

Layed to waste on the purgatorial carpet,

After the august ersatz banquet.

 

Yet sporadically in bouts of joy,

Benevolent souls oblige this toy.

Obscenely bright becomes mellow light,

And sterile walls vanish from sight....

where is he now?
the poor kid
they chased around
the playgrounds
just to see his shoes
flopping in and out
half off his bare feet.

Where are they now?
the poor girls
disheveled and plain
without lipstick and makeup
illiterate
who dreamed of the babies
they had just after graduation.

Where is he now?
the quarterback
who ignored
everyone but himself.

Where are we all?
saint or sinner
or purgatorial.

of eternity....
