A Four Ex Grin
The weather is great
And so is your mate,
Let's go down the Pin
And get those mackerel
So let those reels spin
Then pull in the brim
Cause life's never grim
With a four ex grin!...

Midnight Mirage
under the weight of you
I pull in my wings
and rest . . .
until the rolling intensity
of tumbling necessity –
unable to restrain
spreading wings readying
for
flight...

Fourth of July
The fireworks exploding behind our closed eyes,
They come to life with the spark from our lips.
We open our eyes and sway back and forth,
Looking at each other as if we will be there forever.
We pull in close and embrace....

Undulation
Up and down smooth movement
upon the waves above
usually from the
undertow’s pull in this
united universe
unified process with
underwriter, the moon.

Drift In Dream
Pull in the anchor and drift in dream
Be daring in each avenue you choose to seek
Let not the worries of yesterday burden your soul
For freedom lies with the setting sun
And tomorrow is forever yours

Odd Circumstance
A determined pull, in the opposite direction of home,
Into an estranged battle field of vague dreams and gentle thought,
A place where kingdoms meet, and where god must reside,
What should be an ecstatic vision of the universe, instead,
A tomb of sighs,...

There's No Such Thing As Home
There's no such thing as home
There's no where safe to go
There's no where to feel happy
I dread the moment I pull in the driveway
Waiting for the walls to fall
All then tension I feel is coming
Every night is the same
It will never get better
There will never be a place to call my own...

Pull In Your Catch
You are one hell of a dish.
Knowing you is my immediate wish.
You got me to bite the bait on your hook like a fish.
As a woman, you know how to cook.
All it took was just one look.
Haul me in and take me home.
No longer do I wish to roam.
inspired by another member's poem

Patience
Patience- one great virtue
Poised in keeping us calm.
Perhaps one's born with it;
Probably, must be learned.
Perseverance hones skills-
Prevents frustrating times;
Pull in deeper breaths, smile.

Coach Man
Rein me in,
a hard leather pull in,
would help,
restrain me full,
whenever direction is astray,
to have a coach man,
to the coach,
you are horsing,
very few coaches have,
that luck,
that you are there is luck,
but relax the rein,
all the way,
untill my mein,
when I am allright,
and giving a true honest fight....

The Prize You Seek
Dragnetting with the spoken word,
trying to trap what you can’t see
Unbaited, your net cast far and wide,
in a dark and foreign sea
Over and over, you pull in your lines,
with nothing again to show
The prize you seek, swimming wild and free
—at a depth you’ll never know
(Villanova Pennsylvania: February, 2017)...

Ex Hail
As I sit ever so still feeling the wind blow cross my brow.
In the quiet of the night I hear waves crashing into the sandy shores.
In the distance I see a light slowly moving across the silent seas.
Peaceful and serene.
I close my eyes and inhale ever so deeply.
as if to pull in all of this majestic peace into the
innermost parts of my soul.
Never wanting to ex hail....

Torn
Life can pull in two directions;
Often both ways have appeal
And your mind may be so muddled
You don't know just how you feel.
So you weigh your waiting options
And you dig in and decide,
Hoping what you have selected
Will sit comfortably inside.
For when choices are enticing
And your thoughts are torn and split,
You may make a good decision
But it still may hurt a bit....

The Director
Camera Direction:
Start high above the city.
Focus on the crowd moving below between steel and glass.
Pull in closer,..closer,..closer.
Focus in, as best you can, on one person.
Male or female no preference.
Follow them for four blocks or so.
Observe for signs of life.
If nothing, move on to new subject.
Director's note:
Be sure to have extensive film on hand for this undertaking....

Heaven
"Heaven"
Most wonderful place I've ever seen
angels there won't treat you mean
In Heaven, our Heaven.
I sit outside most every night
Watch your train pull in, out of sight
Don't I dream it was carrying me
To Heaven, our Heaven.
Crowded world, their never free
Nothing in this old world for me
Pray to the Lord that I could be
In Heaven, our Heaven.

The Equation of Mass
The days on earth wear thin
Like my hair
And where girdles pull in a
Sagging mass
And memory is washed by a
Lunar pull-
Like the tide that washes over
Footprints in the sand
Soon memories are gone
like a dying star grows dim
And I return recycled to
The worms
But my heart knows a better
Place-
Where reserved for me
I know so well-
I will glow in -The eternal day
That is- my permanent home
Brenda V Northeast...

Wanting
I sometimes which I could stay asleep
so I can keep dreaming of your face
I can hear your voice and touch you
you pull in close and kiss me hard
never to let go always together
laying in the middle of nowhere
thinking of only us
The sound of waves beating hard
against the rocks on shore
feeling the breeze on our bodies
but not feeling the cold
our bodies are so warm
the tenderness we have
If only I could stay asleep...

I do not know?
The Darkest of Roses
To my corner I do retire
and pull the cover to my chest
I sit there and watch the fire
never to truly get my rest
Like the fire in my soul
the one who sits with me wains
and the air it is in becomes cold
the again in my heart.... pains.
I draw up inward,
I pull in fast
I reach my souls last shard,
hoping it can last.
The darkness does creep
and the quiet losses to thunder
I lay there calling sleep
Never again a peaceful slumber....

Passion
I am full of desire,
I can make you perspire,
My desire is to win,
Even you I will pull in,
I yern for attention,
I'll bring you to confession,
Your heart is mine,
With no doubt of mind,
I'll make you mine,
With in due time,
You can not resist,
Never this sweet kiss,
With each sweet whisper I send to you,
You will be mine, for I will fool you,
Temptation is due to arise,
So look into my sweet eyes,
I am in every womans kiss,
just touch my sweet lips,...

Black holes stop their pull in fear
Hate hangs from me like a disintegrating cloak
It’s sickly oil tendrils trailing from me
It never gives passes
Eloquent in its misuse
Scratching its way through the sheerness. of the
slivers
Feeling so black that blue isn’t quite enough
Love drapes from me like a sculpted marble toga
It’s twirling twines exploding into fluff
It lives in the past and futures
Incoherently overused
It coddles in lessening touches of soft
Feeling the light before it lands...

Grasping Nettles
My father showed me how to pull nettles without being stung.
With a confident and downward grasp and without hesitation,
To grip and flatten the stinging hairs by following their direction
but I have never reached to do it, or had any to pull in my city garden.
I watched him dig sods with a spade and turn them over row by row
So that weeds would bury beneath each shiny clod and not regrow
But I have never had more of a garden than a small brick-paved courtyard....
