Premium Member PRINCIPLES

Today’s blessing comes from the 32nd president of the United States
most of us remember him as FDR:
Rules and laws are not necessarily sacred…he said
but principles always are.

POTUS from LOTUS

It nigh but happened in the US,
LOTUS almost bloomed unto POTUS.
If things turn as they do,
Ere Trump has any clue,
If he loses peace and focus.

Premium Member Tremble

The Founder of the Company
   The Chief of Staff
The Chairman of the Board
   Titles synonymous with 'Lord'

All rise. Pindrop silence
   Here comes the Judge
   Hearts frantically beat
Tremble as you take your seat

But the President of the United States
What excitement does his presence create

Barack Obama Makes History

This is a day to be celebrated.
Barack Obama is being inaugurated.
He's our first black President which means that he's made history.
He will do everything he can to improve the economy.
I voted for him and so did my father and mother.
He also got votes from millions of others.
We elected Obama and it's something that he appreciates.
He will make a fantastic President of the United States.

Premium Member Two Presidents convened

Two Presidents convened on this date,
reportedly to negotiate, the end of the
war and Ukraine's fate..
Instead the President of the United States,
and his very arrogant running mate,
chose to publicly bully and intimidate,
cause that's how we "make America great."
President Zelensky didn't take their bait.
He's a man of character, a Presidential trait,
and Ukraine's still a democracy. It's not
the "deep state".

Waiting For the Rain

The branches start a swaying dance
Like plastic hula dancers.
The sky turns charcoal gray and
Pretty soon we’ll have our answers.

For questioning if it will rain
When Nature’s giving notice
Is like thinking there’ll be wisdom from
The tweeting of the POTUS.*

Anticipation’s half the fun
As briefly clouds will straddle
The sunshine and the darkened sky
Before the raindrops rattle.

*President of the United States

Switching Brains

(This is a fictional poem)

A scientist removed my brain and he removed George Bush's brain too.
He put our brains in each others bodies and there are things I plan to do.
First I'm going to withdraw our troops from Iraq.
Then I'm going to do something to get the price of gas rolled back.
I'm living Bush's life and he's living mine and that's something he hates.
I can make a difference because now I'm President of the United States.

Premium Member Dream For An Unborn Baby

A new seed is growing inside my wife. In several months, we will have a new life. I really don’t care if it’s a girl or boy. This offspring will give the entire family joy. For a very bright future, I have a plan. If the baby is a boy, he will grow into a man. Off to school he will go to get knowledge. My son will graduate with honors from college. Afterwards, a very bright future awaits. My boy will be elected President of the United States.

Premium Member Suppress That Cough

One day when the POTUS was talking,
a muffled cough started him balking.
In arrogant boldness
and dismissive coldness,
he sent our poor Chief of Staff walking!

On June 17, when Trump was being interviewed, he
ordered Mick Mulvaney out of the Oval Office for coughing.
Mulvaney, who is the acting White House Chief of Staff,
also fills other positions. POTUS--President of the United States

Martin Luther King Junior

Today is Martin Luthor King Junior's birthday; a day that we celebrate.
Without his influence, Barack Obama probably wouldn't be the President of the United States.
He wanted black people to have equal rights.
He didn't cower in the face of this fight.
He knew that some people are consumed by hate.
Sadly one of those people took his life in 1968.
Martin Luther King Junior died for what he believed in.
People shouldn't be prejudice because of the color of skin.

Premium Member After the Debate

I think President Biden, politically, is as dead as fried chicken. He can now quit, he can be replaced ... Or he can run and lose. You can’t successfully run for president of the United States when your campaign slogan is, ‘I’m only senile some of the time,’ as one commentator pointed out today. ~Senator John Kennedy (R), July 5, 2024

All the donkeys start to bray
Please old Joe you cannot stay
And so we plead
You must concede
And graciously just go away.

Ford

(Dedicated to Gerald Ford who died December 26, 2006.)

In 1974 you became the 38th President of the United States.
You were President for only a short time but you were great.
You were a fantastic man while you lived.
But when you pardoned Nixon, it was something that many didn't forgive.
In 1976 you didn't get elected.
People held Nixon's pardon against you and Carter was who they selected.
You died on December 26, I hope your last Christmas was merry.
People mourn your death, Jerry.
